If you are targeting the UK only then you definitely should use a .co.uk domain

I have used both .co.uk and .com for the same KW (EMD)...

.co.uk ranked muuuch faster, but at the end the .com outranked it. Same quality and quantitiy of backlinks... The sites were exactly the same in a way (the MFA days...).

I would however suggest going with the .co.uk but know that you will only rank in the UK.

    Sincerely, Buyseech

It doesn't really matter. But of course if you are targeting to UK audiences, it is better to use a hosting in the UK rather than in the US, since Google does check the IP location of your host.

The other way around is you may try to use Google webmaster tool that you are targeting the UK audiences by setting the geo-location areas.

don't know about the .co.uk vs .com but I've heard that hosting does make a difference...to be safe choose UK hosting.

I've spent the last 59 months building 412 MFA sites. Each site averages 8 cents per day...I said average, some make up to 17 cents per day, PASSIVE INCOME! This income allows me to live comfortably and buy ANY flavor Jolly Rancher or Skittles I desire. Don't give in to fear, it CAN be done!

If you are going to target UK traffic, then definitely, .co.uk domain will help you to get top easily compare to .com domains on Google UK... as far as .co.uk itself indicates that the site is from "UK"

I would disagree, I would always go with the .com, but you should buy all .TLD variations.

    It is stronger.

As long as you install webmaster tools, go into site settings, select, target users in the United Kingdom.

Use a minimum 5 year registration and that .com will be tough to beat.

Your .co.uk is gonna be 2nd against that, with its fixed 2 year registration, all things being equal.

Use the .co.uk for email, .com for the web, cuts down on spam.

90% of my clients are UK based, as am I.

Well, co.uk will tell people that this domain is ONLY valid for United Kingdom... For example, if you are selling something and want to rank high on UK google, why don't you also have a good position in the worldwide google (COM) search engine? I would choose .com for a business purpose and .co.uk for a personal website ONLY for people from UK

If you think the majority of your customers are from the UK, then go for co.uk
