5 sites with adsense, different niches, same adsense ads

As of last week, I implemented adsense to some of my older sites to see if I could make any money using adsense. Of the few sites I am trying adsense on, none of them are designed around the same niche. My problem is that the adsense ads are all showing up with the same ads. Only 1 site is relevant to the ad that is being displayed.

How do I go about fixing this?

They are the same because Google is tracking you. They see the sites you have gone to and try to make the ads relevant to you. It's not just about content. So they are fine, they will show the right things to different people.

If you want to make sure, clear your cookies and go to one of your sites. Or you can use a private browsing window to check.

Do you have enough content on your pages that will allow Google to understand what's the topic of your site?

Also, it can take a few hours until Google starts displaying ads that are related to your content - especially if you just setup Adsense.

My sites have good related content so I hope that isn't the problem. I will clear the cache and change my settings to see if that works. Thanks for the help.

You can't turn off interest based ads. People have never read this
little switch all the way correctly. This box means they may collect
info to maybe create categories in the future.

You can only "turn" searchers personal stuff off if they log out of
google. Or, surf with no trace. Just the site and search query will
tip google off to what people want.

There is no reason to NOT allow 3rd parties to use their
        audience.

People think google is crazy and has no idea what they are doing.

Quite the contrary. They make so much money from online advertising,
it's pathetic. If you put facebook and MS together for ad revenue, you
would not get a fraction of what google makes. Yahoo is even a nonissue.
Sad thing is, MS does not even make a penny a day.

Google has the power of their algos to put ads on your sites. I always
say, do not, repeat, do not go messing with settings. Google is very
adept at putting ads on your site. Many an adsense user errs by thinking
google has no idea what they are doing.

Yes, it takes time. I can't go into every single detail, but watch your
        page title, and h1 tag.

If you want clicks people, look at your audience. How can you
attract people who are looking for YOUR info? Do that, and the
rest falls in place. Those people will have a recent track of
trying to find info like on your site. Instant relevant ads.

The more people click on relevant ads, the more google will put
        those ads on your site.

        Time, hard work, and patience.

Patrick hit the nail on the head. I was just about to say the same thing, as I experienced a similar problem in the past.
