First your submission must be accepted by the owner of those directories. Then when when search engine crawl the directory then your link will index. Check your backlinks to find that then links are indexed or not.

It takes a lot of time, when the owner of that directory approves your website then Google crawls it and then you can check google webmaster tools of your website for all approved back links.

yes email also helps but a lot of directories do not email after approval.
so google webmaster tools is probably the best way to check the crawled directory back links

Alternatively, you could use something like aHrefs.com or SeoSpyGlass to identify which of your directory submissions are linking to your sites. aHrefs.com is probably the better option as it will show you new links as they are discovered daily.

And if you check search engine accepted it, than open google.com and type cache : abc.com, and easily check those links are accepted by search engine.

Instant approved directory sites are not easy to search. Mostly we just submit our site info in directory sites. Few sites send mail for the confirmation. We need to check account to confirm the details of directory site. Few sites are different type their admin check and approved the details after all that we can get visibility of site in directory.
