Advantage of Pinterest in SEO?

Hello friends,

Hey i am just fresher in SEO and i have seen many discussion about Pinterest.com. i just want to know how it is useful for SEO?

    I'm not sure there really is a benefit for SEO. I have a brand, so when my products are posted, it is like free marketing -- people pin and repin and repin and I get great word of mouth referrals. It is great to get my brand's name out there. I've gotten a lot of sales from there, because what I make and sell is decorative. It fits the Pinterest concept completely.

    But it hasn't increased my rankings, it hasn't done anything for SEO.

    I believe some of the links are dofollow from Pinterest and I have seen Pinterest boards ranking on Google for keywords. Though I have not done a study to be sure how much it is working, I do believe there is benefit from using Pinterest. The dofollow link from a page that can be ranked and gains pagerank is helpful, along with the traffic you can drive if you use your board properly.

    I'm targeting a keyword at the moment (8,800 Exact per month) and there is a pinterest board ranking in position 1.

    Get a link to your site on a high ranking board, which develops a high PR score, will produce a decent amount of link juice.

      I looked at Pinterest, and the links are all Nofollow. The same as Youtube and Facebook. But that doesn't mean that the links TO Pinterest are Nofollow. That's one reason that the Pinterest (and Youtube & Facebook) sites rank so highly in search results.

      I may be wrong, but I couldn't find a way to link from Pinterest with a Dofollow link.

      But using them in marketing? Sure. People will still find your site from these links and you can still get listed in a Google search from these sites. Just no PR juice.

      If someone knows where there are Dofollow links from Pinterest, I'd love to know where they are.

        When you link to your website in the settings area of your Pinterest account, it creates a dofollow link on the board itself. It will appear as a little gray world icon.

    I have been getting a lot of traffic from Pinterest. My target market really isn't women so the traffic does seem to convert very well. There is definitely potential there however.
