    Find blogs that are relevant to your niche and comment on posts that you find interesting and thoughtful, with interesting or thoughtful comments.

    When commenting, think like a normal user, not like someone looking for a link (even though you are!).

    If you leave good quality, relevant comments you'll get a link but may also get some traffic too, as other users can see that you actually do have something to contribute to the discussion.

    Don't worry too much about do- and nofollow; sure you get better value from dofollow links, but a link profile that only contains dofollow links is not 'natural' and can negatively impact on your rankings.

    Finally, make sure you vary your anchor text from blog to blog. Too many links with the same anchor text is also a sign of 'unnatural' link building.

    It's incredibly important to give readers some substance so that they can benefit from what you provide them with. Don't go into a blog with the idea of getting a link, truly believe you can give some information and get a link as a second desire. You'll also receive web traffic even if it's a nofollow link.     I seriously think that half of the posters in the SEO section @ the Warrior Forum are automated robots, programmed to create nonsensical posts and/or repeat the same thing over and over again.

      Haha, I absolutely agree. But rather than robots, they are more likely to be non-native speakers of English working for SEO companies in the east. The english is very basic and the posts are meaningless because it's difficult to express oneself fully with limited ability in a certain language. Also, it's just lazy: Put signature link in, post everywhere in the SEO section, and hope for traffic/ranking increases. I think there should be more action against this kind of stuff, to be honest. It gets on my nerves when I try to read a topic in anticipation of some good valid insights, but all I get is generic spam in broken/robotic english.

    Blog commenting is an excellent method both for backlinks and traffic.

    The right approach is to include as much value as possible in your comments. Every
    comment should be like a short article. If you are using commenting software to spam
    with generic comments like "Great post, thanks" and such, that won't get you anywhere.

    Also, no need to comment on hundreds of blogs, but only a few of the quality ones that
    bring the best results.

    Find High quality blogs (ONLY relevant websites) and try to get a backlink by writing a comment and try to do this on pages with LESS than 15 (maximum 20 comments on the article). If the article has for example 100+ comments, be sure that this backlink is USELESS! And even more, the website could be blacklisted by some search engines if you continue doing this and do it massively (like Blog Commenting Blast!)
