Just wondering if any SEO gurus would be interested in this deal. I have 2 websites that I need SEO help for. Possibly adding a blog in the future. I would be happy to share profits with anyone who would be interested in doing some of the SEO for me. We can try the deal with one website and if we both think it works out well, we can do the same with others.

My friend you can get a content writer for 0,60$ x 100 words , build a cool site for less than 100$ , get a domain for 0,99$ , but serious SEO costs $$$$ , who ever is serious about SEO will stay away from this.

So whoever starts to deal with you will waste his and your time for sure .

I agree. I run an SEO firm and I wouldn't touch this with a 10 foot poll. What can you offer in the form of up front value? I know for a fact what I do is valuable and would consider it a waste of time and resources to share in someone else's dream in the hopes that I'll one day get a share of the profits.

So every business in the world can have the website they need for $200? I think not. Many corporate websites costs $20, $30, $40,000.

Here's the problem with revenue sharing in exchange for SEO services.

The SEO takes on all the risk.

Anyone can setup a site/content, no risk, so why take 50% when the SEO can get 100% of the revenue?

So it sounds like many of you run SEO firms and would never do anything like this, which is disappointing.

    But I have two comments/questions.

    1) There must be people here who are great at SEO, but not doing it as a career, right? Maybe you work doing something unrelated and you just do SEO for your own blog or side project. With me, you can do a couple of hours per week of SEO and actually own a portion of my company. Still not worth it for people who are good?

    2) Everyone seems to be saying "eh, SEO takes all the risk". I dont get this. My website is $20,000 and all the SEO person is putting up is a couple hours per week. How does that make him take all the risk?

      The SEO = traffic.

      Without traffic, what's left?

Unless the SEO filters all of his backlinks through his own domains (on/off switch for backlinks), you hold all the cards, he has nothing except time & probably money (links) invested. Good links aren't usually free.

I would like to clear this thing first :
"All the SEO person is putting up is a couple hours per week. How does that make him take all the risk?"
SEO people makes effort to bring traffic on the website. If the keyword is not able to fetch the genuine visitor to the website, or the leads are not converted, work done so far doesn't make much sense...so at the end what matters is the lead and the conversion. : ))

I would like to see your website..Please send me the URLs.. Lets talk thereafter. . : )

Unfortunately this site wont let me send PMs until I have 50 posts :-( But here is what I would have sent you :-)

Hi there :-) Thanks for replying to my thread, I have three sites that I will eventually need SEO for. The first is The Intelligence News | Defense News | Military Intelligence

This site is for U.S. Defense and Intelligence news and is modeled after a very successful site, DRUDGE REPORT 2012®. This site gets 350 milliom users per month and charges about $10gs a month for ads.

My site gets 3,000 uniques per month right now, but doesnt even rank in top 100 for ANY of my 5 keywords.

My keywords are:national defense, defense news, military intelligence, the intelligence news, iran news, syria news, lybia news

I am open to changing them.

        Thanks!

All of the negative things talked about in that story, have to do with sales-based sites. I do not sell anything on my site. I simply want to pay someone to give me quality traffic. However, I do not yet have a lot of money, as the site does not sell anything.

I have about $10 per day Adwords account. Anyone who can get quality traffic to my site for less, please PM me. Otherwise equity is the only thing I have to give :-(

If someone spends 8 hours on building a website and writing the content and let's say we put a price tag of $160,- on that, then if I can rank that site within a $160 budget then it's a fair deal right?

The only thing that comes into play then is how much can you trust the other party? Right now with my own set of different networks and all I could easily remove the links again so no risk to getting screwed, it would only be a waste of time. As extra backup I would demand that my Adsense / affiliate code would be there so people can't pull tricks on me.

LOL if you know good web programmers that charge $20 an hour ($160/8 hours) PLEASE give me their contact info!! Good programmers, in the US anyway, charge $80-$100 an hour. We are obviously talking about different types of websites here!

Also, for the third time, I dont sell anything on the website. It is a news website and I need more traffic so I can sell some ads. So I would basically assume that any traffic above what I am getting now, is due to the SEO partner.

So you are looking for a partner but when it ranks you first have to find advertisers, hmmm great business plan. No one will be so stupid to get involved with you.

I have 4 advertisers lined up, ready to start at $200/mo when I reach 5,000 uniques.

Dont be mad just because I suggested that good web programmers get more than than the $20 per hour you suggested. Im just looking for help here, no reason to get all fired up.

I am ignorant on all this stuff...that's why Im here...to learn.

Well then, you shouldn't have any problems spending some money and paying for it. That's how the economy works. People pay, and receive goods and or services in exchange.

John, I am not particularly opposed to paying for good SEO. The problem is that I have no idea what "good SEO" is. Everyone who offers their services on this forum claims to be the best and get people ranked #1 left and right.

I have no idea who to choose or how to even evaluate them! If you have someone you have worked with and you can give me a recommendation, that would be AWESOME.

          Thanks!

I wasn't fed up about webmaster fees, although most people here with small websites shouldn't be paid more then $10/hour actually

"Also, for the third time, I dont sell anything on the website. It is a news website and I need more traffic so I can sell some ads."

I didn't suggested you had to sell or sold anything. I only made the statement that I would put my Adsense / affiliate code there. Adsense is very suitable for news sites.

Anyway, not interested in SEO'ing a news site, no hard feelings.

haha, ok thanks! As for not wanting to SEO a news site...you're not the only one. If I could just use simple tactics like backlinks and blog posts I would, but the nature of the website simply does not allow too much of that kind of work :-(

Guess I still need to search for help! hehe

The ONLY way a seo company would EVER even consider this would be if your website was SO unique, and had such a good rate of success that they could guarantee results very quickly.

The barrier to entry would also have to be massive from the business side, or it wouldn't make sense. These types of deal work the other way around, SEO companies make deals with content creators not the other way around. SEO is hard, a high school graduate can write good content.

Appreciate the input. Content is still something I am working out. Right now, as an aggregator, I just repost relevant news stories. Though google disagrees for some reason, this provides a lot of value for many people. In fact, by writing my own original content, I feel it actually takes credibility away from the site. All of a sudden, I am not a news outlet, but pushing some kind of personal agenda. Worse, Im of no particular importance for anyone to care what I have to say on the subject.

Unfortunately, reposts do not rank well in google. I couple people Ive talked to actually seemed impressed I managed to get 2500-3k uniques each month without being ranked in top 100 for any of my keywords!
