I am looking to get my Google Places page to rank. Apart from optimising the places page, is the best way to rank a places page the say way you would rank a website, by getting quality links to it. So this is my places page:

Do I have to get back links to this page to get it to rank better?
Secondly, is it possible to get a friendly URL for a places account? e.g. https://plus.google.com/scootek
