$1 A Day To $102 A Day Overnight With Adsense

About 3 days ago I was on this forum asking people how I could get my Adsense earnings higher. I didn't know if I had my Adsense in the right places or whatever. Literally, 3 days later, I see that I have made over $100 in the last 3 days...and this has happened overnight. I didn't change anything, however, my traffic jumped from 80 visits to around 120 visits per day organically.

I know this is a weird question and you shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth, but what am I doing right?

You had a 50% increase in traffic which means you should have gotten a 50% increase in income. I'm afraid that your traffic may have come from posting your site on the forum and that forum members decided to "help" you by clicking your ads. Without knowing anything more about your situation that is my guess.

I don't think forum members would intentionally click on his ads unless they were trying to click bomb him and have his adsense account banned. Most of the time people show there sites and ask advice they don't usually report any increases in earnings.

This is what happened to me when I posted my website link a couple years back on the WF. Instant adsense ban.

Well, I haven't tried to promote my site for you guys to click my ads! And as far as knowing what I did in regard to the last poster, I have no idea! I didn't change anything. The only thing that changed was my organic search results.

One question: how can you get banned from Adsense when other people click your ads repeatedly? I have nothing to do with that, so how can they punish someone's site for what someone else is doing? As far as I know, no one on the WF has even clicked the ads.

Google states in their TOS you are responsible for your traffic, you can and will get banned for people click bombing you even though it wasnt your fault. Your suppose to report this to Google if you think this is happening, Google has a form for this. But Im not saying that is what is happening here, dont have enough info to figure that out.

Going from 80 to 120 visitors shouldn't have been enough to make 100.00 in last 3 days unless you get 20.00 clicks. Not trying call you a liar or anything I just don't see how that much money could have been made from such low amount of traffic.

      I'm thinking the same thing.

$100 on 120 visitors is a MASSIVE amount when it comes to Adsense. Seems to me he's more of a victim of click bombing than anything else. If that's the case, he should be expecting to hear from Google pretty soon.

@ Wade32, have you look at your traffic stats to see where it's coming from?

Traffic jump is pretty normal. Income jump maybe abnormal. Maybe google just find your site credible and bump your CPC.

I can understand why you guys may think I am lying. I couldn't believe it myself! In relation to my traffic stats, I am only getting 120(give or take a few) per day in organic searches. The rest, which is through social media, is about 100 per day. However, this has been pretty steady since I started the site. The social media traffic fluctuates every day as you can imagine, but nothing noticeable. Like I said before, the organic is where it has been boosted. The clicks are coming from there.

Have pulled up your analytics and webmaster tools to see exactly where the traffic is coming from. I would imaging that would give you at least some insight into what happened.

    What's your CTR? 80%
    And what's your CPC? $10?

Say you got 750 visitors in those 3 days, and had a CTR of 10%
Your CPC would have to be 1.5ish......

    I guess it's doable

I would also like to know where I could go to fill out the form that was mentioned for Adsense to report this so I don't get banned. Anyone know where this is?

Yep, I keep it in my favorites folder just in case:

        https://support.google.com/adsense/b...s_contact&rd=2

But to be clear, I have no clue if you are being clicked bombed. Im just telling you the process to take if it was a click bomb scenario. I always watch my traffic throughout the day and compare to my adsense stats, because if you do get banned the chances of you getting unbanned is slim to none.

This does not really sound all that fishy unless I'm missing something (maybe I am?).

                Look, he got say 360 uniques in 3 days x say 20% ctr = 72 clicks x $1.50 EPC = $108.00

Or you could put the EPC at $2 or $3 and lower the CTR, or whatever.

That's not unusual really at all if you have really good traffic.
I've had content syndicated to 1 news letter and the traffic converted really nicely.

No reason to EVER contact google about clicks and traffic.
                  Waste of time and energy.

                  No need to worry.

Google is very adept at catching click bombs, contrary
                  to popular belief.

Invalid clicks most often get taken away within minutes.
They do have a recalculation at the end of the month.

Sit back, relax, and enjoy it.

No need for anyone to panic if you are doing nothing wrong.

People just don't know any better. Just look at all the
                  "I was banned" threads here.

Every adsense account gets click bombed and has invalid
clicks. The more traffic, the more income, the more it
                  happens.

People who get banned get banned for the top 5 reasons
that google readily publishes. Invalid clicks are not even on
                  that list.

Invalid activity is click fraud. Not the same.

                    Paul
So just curious, I asked this before, why does Google offer a form to report invalid clicks if this isnt an issue? It says on the page:

"Use this form to let our team know about invalid activity in your account. Please keep in mind that it's your responsibility to prevent invalid activity from occurring in your account, and this form does not absolve you of that responsibility."

Then in their faqs it says this:

"Google treats invalid click activity very seriously, analyzing all clicks and impressions to determine whether they fit a pattern of use that might artificially drive up an advertiser's costs or a publisher's earnings. If we determine that an AdSense account might pose a risk to our AdWords advertisers, we may disable that account to protect our advertisers' interests."

So invalid clicks can help determine a possible risk to their adword clients, which then gets your account banned. So invalid clicks can get your account banned, directly or indirectly. Just because its not the top 5 reasons for getting banned, doesnt mean it wont get you banned.

      Something sounds fishy...

      Did you CTR increase drastically?

      Did your EPC increase drastically?

Something changed... But what? Obviously your site didn't. So from a $1 per day, it ought to have gone up to $1.5 per day since your traffic has become 1.5 times higher (80 per day to 120 per day).

If your CTR increased drastically, beware of click fraud.

If your EPC increased drastically, then look up the Adwords keyword tool to see whether something changes (not sure that you can see that so soon)...

If this is true, then I envy you for experiencing such a great bonus from Google Adsense. Google might have found your content compelling to readers, and your readers also found your content helpful. The ad units might have displayed highly relevant ads to support your content, making the readers click through naturally to learn more of what you have introduced to them. If this is the case, then boost in CTR and CPC is possible, especially if the niche you're in is very competitive.

Invalid click activity could mean anything. If you report site and they review it they might deem your site quality or source of traffic the reason and you will be found guilty. Better to just ignore and if you get banned you get banned. Reporting it doesn't stop the ban. You are just pointing out that your site is dangerous whether its your fault or not they don't care.

Im surprised by the feedback about invalid clicks, my only suggestion is at this point make sure you read and understand the Adsense TOS. Because once your site is banned, its near impossible to get it back.
