AdSense-Slapped... Feeling Sheepish

Hi Warriors,

Just been slapped by the big G and feeling a bit sheepish. Thought I had a great idea for a site http://e-cigarettes-uk.net which is supposed to be a reviews site based on adsense + affiliate products monetization.

Adsense ads were showing initially but disappeared in the last couple of days as I was adding more content. Raised this on G support and got the response:

Acceptable:
  • Informational sites about quitting smoking
  • Informational sites that do not sell tobacco products
Not acceptable:
  • Sites that primarily sell tobacco products (cigars, cigarettes, e-cigarettes, chewing tobacco or rolling papers)

Hmmmm.... Ok, so I'm not strictly selling anything. It's a reviews site with affiliate sales - but I guess G doesn't care about that.

Question is: what can now be done to recover the situation. Add informative content on quit smoking? Change site theme? Use other less strict ad networks (can only think of adbrite and chitika).

Any suggestions greatly appreciated as always. And yep, you're allowed to laugh at me jumping into the project without looking at the fine print...

Cheers,
Dee

In theory e-cigarettes could be considered an aid to quit smoking, but if the big G considers them a tobacco product, imho you just can't promote them.
