Backlinking your backlinks

Hey guys:
Couple of questions here and I hope they are not too confusing.
First: How important is it to backlink your backlinks? For example, backlinking my web2.0 properties that link to my site? Is it fair to say that the more robust my web2.0 properties become, the more link juice they will pass to my money site?
Another question relates to the type of links that I want pointing at my money site:
If I only want the majority of backlinks that point to my money site to be nich related, would it make sense to distribute most of my non relevant backlinks from other sites to my web2.0 sites to boost them up, thus making their link juice that they pass more potent? Cheers.
