It only has 733 competing pages in quotes.
Pretty much any optimized post would have
      gotten to page one.

      Well done though.

Very true. However, it is always nice to rank in the number one position.

actually, that's not the true competition,

        this is

        Results 1 - 10 of about 60 for allintitle:"adult network marketing". (0.93 seconds)

low results like that are easy to rank for.

Your true competition is low, less than 800 . Google this exact phrase "adult network marketing" and you will see . Also , this search term does not get many searches . Sorry to be party popper , but there is really no point in been no.1 on google for this phrase

dude, i agree with the post above by "jonnoryan".

There is no point in ranking for this term. There is no competition and no search results. In other words a complete waste of time.

Make sure that you do proper keyword research in the future, as what you have done is pointless and will not make you money.

    Sorry to be harsh

HAHAHAHA! I love this quote because it displays the ignorance that occurs when one does not think out of the box.

      "Sorry to be harsh"

I woke up this morning as mentioned in my initial post and noticed I had the number one ranking out of 2,310,000 search results.

I got excited and posted the thread.

I went to work. My offline network is my bread and butter, not my online network, I just study under you guys. I have no desire to sit in front of a computer everyday but I know the potential income that is possible by doing so, hence my membership here.

If you knew me personally you still wouldn't be able to comprehend my day to day lifestyle , I just observed a failed negotiation of thousands of dollars in marijuana while talking to my buddy about some plumbing fixtures I can get for super cheap. That is just a regular event in the day of the life of an Albuquerque Pest Control Tech killin roaches in the ghetto.

The whole point of me sharing that random event is that the people I talk with and deal with on the day to day basis don't have a clue that :

"Your true competition is low, less than 800 . Google this exact phrase "adult network marketing" and you will see . Also , this search term does not get many searches . Sorry to be party popper , but there is really no point in been no.1 on google for this phrase"

So when I told no less than 8 or 9 people I know today about this new MLM that will DRASTICALLY change their lives and then had them google "adult network marketing" and showed them that little part that says "Results 1 - 100 of about 2,310,000 for adult network marketing. (0.33 seconds)" their jaws dropped. Then I laid out the whole online marketing plan and now they want IN!

I'm building an offline MLM empire LOCALLY by using Internet Marketing jargon and hoopla to sell my future sales reps on the idea! They trust me because they don't understand a thing I'm saying but it sounds better and makes more sense than the telemarketers do that try and sell them front page google advertising for $100's of dollars a month.

I encourage you all if your reading this to MINGLE with your local small business owners! They want the skill that you all possess and will pay you cold hard cash if you can gain their trust. The money is out there, go get it!

I think it is a good lesson though guys, and digitalprofitz and others will benefit. The I AM NUMBER ONE ON GOOGLE seems like a great place to be...but, it is kinda like being the first in line at a movie theater, that has been out of business for years...it just won't help ya. The competition is not fierce, the accomplishment is not going to make money. There are other things to think about as well. For instance, if you search "insurance questions" on google...I am number 5 out of 340,000 competing sites...seems like a great feat, but this gets me a whopping 15 hits per day. All in all, you have to look at the big picture and what it all means.

I think digital's point of using the blogs here is valid though...if these baby's are getting visited by Google's creepy crawlies, then blog away baby!

Not exactly, I just know that MLM or network marketing revolves around hype. And when you have a group of organized hyped up MLMers who have a leader that studys the warrior forum regularly and buys all the latest WSO's regarding current trends then success is only a matter of action.

Cool I can take an easy online beating based upon pure assumption

I've learned that sneaky 'blackhat' tactics don't last long.

And I've also learned that lying or deceiving the wrong person out here where I live could cost me my life.

I take honesty and integrity seriously because when you do business in the offline world like I do then you better have the muscle or the wits.

When I typed the statement "by using Internet Marketing jargon and hoopla " I simply mean speaking a language they don't understand. Now follow me here because we're going to swim in some deep waters now... When I spray apartments in the warzone or ghetto of Albuquerque most of the residents speak spanish.

I don't speak spanish fluently but I understand simple words like 'hola' or 'cookaracha'

So when I use Internet Marketing jargon and hoopla when describing this stuff, my valued and respected small business owners whom I spray on regular schedules only understand simple words like 'google' or 'twitter'. Make sense?

So when I said "I just know that MLM or network marketing revolves around hype. And when you have a group of organized hyped up MLMers who have a leader that studys the warrior forum regularly and buys all the latest WSO's regarding current trends then success is only a matter of action. "

    I was stating facts.

If you've been in any MLM business you know that hype is bigger than the product or the compensation plan. Thats how quixtar big wigs make all their cash, by selling hyped up 'training material'.

I plan on creating a social networking site, like myspace, where I can have any one thats interested in learning more join. They will be able to join for free and at the same time become slowly versed in the ways of internet marketing. Now I never admitted to NOT knowing alot.

My good buddy Jason Ashton has already convinced you guys that "So your basically telling clients that you understand SEO etc when infact you have no idea what you are talking about? "

Foolishness, this cowboy joined this January and has 19 posts. Now I know thats not saying much but c'mon, I might not be successful online but if you new my story and how my wife of 6 years talked me into moving to albuquerque 3 years ago (right when I got into IM) only to leave me and then set in motion a 2 and a half year drinking binge you'd understand.

I have taken to studying IM very seriously and understand the general concepts and step by step methods to success. I can also guarantee YOU I can build a website that will blow your mind! Once again you ask, why aren't you doing it then? I AM!

Listen, if I were to call you up tonight and tell you I can get your local small biz listed on the front page of google for free and gain you 5 paid customers by the end of next week would you believe me?

It doesn't matter what you think, I did that 2 weeks ago for my boss, check it albuquerque pest control - Google Search

I have generated 5 clients within the last week from this listing that took me 10 minutes to set up. Almost instant results, watch this video if you don't believe me .

With all that being said, what if I would have done this same thing with a different keyword say "myspace marketing" and then created a clickbank product based around the topic which was then promoted by a bunch of hyped up 'Internet Marketing jargon and hoopla' affiliates that I trained in the ways of IM. And what if I launched this campaign around August 2003? If you would have googled "myspace marketing" in August 2003 how many results would you be looking at?

      Woooah easy tiger...

Ok lets clear up a few things

First thing, who are you calling a cowboy? You live in albuquerque

Secondly you brought up a whole new point. If you can create websites for clients that rank for relevant buyer keywords and that get results then thats fantastic.

However the rest of what you said about showing MLMer's you 1st page ranking etc is a load of rubbish. MLMer's aren't stupid. The first question they will ask is how much money have you made from this?

If you want to impress them and get their business then you have to set up a page (and no not a crappy warrior blog post but instead one of those "great" websites you can build) and show them actual monetary results. (if you have created websites for your boss that work, show them that!)

Either way i couldn't care less

Those 800 sites are the 'real competition' because they are the only sites that actually even contain that phrase. The other sites could have a few words of the phrase scattered around a page, and hence are not really any competition for getting ranked for that phrase.

He's right though - being #1 would be great for recruiting, and I am not as convinced as the others are that there is really anything wrong with that.

He's not trying to sell SEO services after all..

If i get a local business #1 for "columbus florist", it wouldn't be very difficult, there would be little 'real' competition and not a lot of searches, but I bet other local Columbus businesses would be plenty excited about it and I would certainly use it for marketing. And if I was trying to recruit a sales force, I would certainly point it out to them as well..

It's not really low without quotes and he's still number one. I understand that quotes and "allintitle" and all that shows you what your exact competition is, but keep in mind that searchers ordinarily don't use quotes when searching. If you want your site to be in a position that real people who are actually searching for what you have to offer will actually see, you will need to determine what your "broad" competition is for that keyword, and where you fit into that broad search.

And for the broad search for this person's keyword, he has over 2 million competing sites and his Warrior Blog is still number one.

This is misguided in my opinion. Whether people search using quotes or not has nothing to with it. The phrase "google california microsoft" without quotes returns 14,200,000 results for me but since nobody searches or advertises for that who cares who ranks first. Quoting your position compared to the number of results returned may impress people who lack knowledge, though.

Well...using the quotes tells you what sites are optimized for that exact keyword phrase, which IS your true competition...the broad search without the quotes will show you sites that include that keyword phrase but are not necessarily found together. For example, type the word ADULT...he won't show up...type word NETWORK, again, nope, how about MARKETING? Nada. Network Marketing perhaps? no go...it doesn't matter if you are number one if no one is searching for you...
