I optimize a keyword for somedomain.com and I got ranked in google but sometimes I see somedomain.com/<sub_folders>/somefile.html is at the same position for the same keyword. How this can happen ? I'm not optimizing for the big URL. Please let me know if there is a way to fix it ?

This happens all the time with new domains. I noticed it more regularly in the past when I used keywords as tags.

In general, this isn't anything to worry about. If your domain is less than six months old, then just keep building links to your homepage at a steady rate and you will rank sooner or later.

Just like they said. I have seen it happen before. It will work itself out. Just keep working on your site.
