New e-Commerce Platform New URLs??

Hi,

I have a question.

I recently changed eCommerce platforms and was expecting to have the same URLs.

But now instead of my old URL: e.g HTTP :// website.com
I have: HTTP :// website.com/en/

I can't write the URLs as don't have post count.

etc etc

It's like this for all my inner pages too. My developer tells me it's fine but doesn't explain it.

So my question is that even if I changed platform shouldn't I be able to maintain the same URLs?

Thanks!

I suggest you try to replicate your old URL and site structure as closely as possible, especially if the old site was ranking well.

You might need to hack a few things to get it working but most platforms are easy to modify.

If there are any URL's you can't replicate then you should look at doing 301's but replication is the primary goal where possible.

    Hi,

Thanks a lot for your response but I think the both of you mis-understood my question.

So I am not changing domain names but just changing platforms.

So should I be able to keep the same URLs??

Right now they are all different

    Thanks!

Its depends on which platform you want to use and how they coded for the SEO.. many ecommerce script comes for SEO optimization. May be you can use same URL..
