I own 835 websites and have a large array of ip addresses and hosting and all types of testing going on and documenting movements by dates etc.

I have recovered internal pages of penguin hit sites in 24 hours time with certain techniques. but best i can tell the index or homepages is going off of the penguin penalty and only recoverable on the penguin refreshes. is this possible? i had sites wiped out from penguin. due to crazy over optimizing anchors, and all exact match backlinks 100% exact match. and 10% onsite kw weight. i fixed all of this and added a few other ideas, and recovered the internal page within 24 hours. but cant recover index pages. i think penguin has multiple layers specific to internal pages and homepages only are recoverable on the refreshes. maybe im crazy?

Thats interesting to me. I wonder if the homepage is treated separately. Maybe on the next refresh the homepage will come out as well?

How many times has the "Penguin" been run? This guy makes it sound like it updates every day.

Penguin was an algo update. Google's algo runs every day. We have no idea how many changes related to the Penguin strategy there have been, so yes it could be every day for all we know.

  • You might be onto something here. My strongest ranking pages have been the least effected. However, all my home pages have been hit the worst. I'm also working on diversifying anchors on all pages. At the same time starting new sites.

Apart from that, and a few other services I've bought on WF to diversify anchors, I'm not going to do any more work on my old sites. Will wait until the next refresh (or for conclusive evidence of not one? Who knows?).

i do, only do manual linking building. nothing automated.

and i was hit from achor text links being close too 100% and on page anchors being way over optimised. and kw density between 5-10%. but not all of my sites were efected of course. all im saying is i have enough tests running and enough sites to say what im experiencing. and i have recovered internal pages within 24 hours. not all of the internal pages, just some. when i applied certain tweeks and techniques. but i cannot get a homepage to recover. due to me believing that penguin has layers of refreshing, and a specific refresh for the homepages is done on the time they announce the refresh but i dont that applies to internal pages. from my experience. thats all. and im glad to hear at least 1 person is kinda seeing this. thank you.
