Seeing Results = Waking up at 5 AM And For Me to Work Even More!

Wow, this weekend has been fantastic. I've sold several products over $1,000 + worth all together from Amazon on the weekend, while only averaging about 30 unique visitors a day. It's only going up with the keywords that I'm going for..

I've only devoted about maybe 2-3 hours a day by going for low-competition keywords that are extremely targetable. And this is with one SOLID site. I've ventured off now onto a new site. I figured, I'm 25, no wife/kids (gf lives far away from keeping me occupied, SCORE!), done with school, no 9-5, home all day, I might as well take ADVANTAGE of that before I no longer have the time.

In addition to that, I've made my FIRST commission with PPC! The time I'm putting in internet marketing is finally paying off!

Yes, the results may not be as great to others, but for me its a stepping stone. It gives me that extra drive/push to work even harder. I swear this is addicting when I see numbers/$$ go up. Today I sacrificed some of my sleep to get up by 5 AM to get s*** done.

Anyways, I just wanted to share my progress that's all. I also want to add that I purchased so many WSO's in the past, that it's been a waste of my damn time and $$. There's so much you can learn on the forum for FREE. Nevertheless, if you build a relationship with one of the members (getting to know them, read about their topics/threads/techniques), and if they have an WSO; then that's the one that's worth purchasing! Because of the "trust"/relationship factor you've had with them that you know the WSO will be worth it.

People I recommend in this forum: Yukon, Wolfmmiii, Paulgl, Mike Anthony, Nest 28, JSProjects, UMS, Mike Friedman.

Peace!

Well done man, that sounds great. For some reason I really connected with your post because I'm at a kind of similar stage (though quite a bet less successful than you've been so far): I've been bitten by the bug and I'm excited to see where it goes from here. I actually saw your post immediately after signing up for amazon associates (I've only done adsense and CPA so far).

Anyway, hit me up with a PM if you feel like having someone at a roughly similar stage to bounce ideas off. I love IM so far, but it does get to be kind of a drag not being able to talk to people IRL about it because it's impenetrable and boring to people who aren't in the know.

With your amazon niche site, did you target a niche with a view to shifting big ticket amazon items, or did you get the traffic first and then realize amazon was a good way to monetize it?

I don't focus on google keyword tool at all. I go for the exact model number. For example "Samsung X3602L" (not real). I also add review after the product name so I'm gaining multiple ranks.

So it would be "Samsung X3602L Review"

The trick is to go for low-competition products. I only aim for products that are over $100.

If I find a large market with tons of products, then that's what I go for.
I focus mainly on content. The only off-page SEO I do is social bookmarking which is enough for my pages to hit rank 1 on Google.

A lot of it I learned from wolfmmiii.

Pretty close to what I do. Though I go after a few buyer keywords as well.

        "samsung 4034x2 price"
        "samsung 4034x2 lowest price"
        "samsung 4034x2 best price"

        etc...

These tend to convert very, very well.

Ha good thing I edited my first post. I was thinking for a minute of your name and I saw you post earlier on another thread lol. So I put your name as people I recommend =D. This post right here just solidified that. Thanks a lot!

            Thanks.

I think a lot of people tend to get caught up in only going after "high traffic" keywords. It's just as easy (if not easier) to go after a handful of lower traffic, but EXTREMELY targeted buyer keywords.

Do you get EDMs with, say, Samsung in it?
If yes; have you encountered any problems, such as a cease and desist letter? Or do the sites not last long enough to worry about legal issues?

No EMD's with brand names. I'd rather avoid the hassle.

Just go with something fairly broad but still niche related and target keywords on the pages themselves. Ex:

            lcdtvprices.com/samsung-642x5-lowest-price/

            (Totally random example.)

        Hi GGPaul,

        Congrats on your success.

I have a few questions. If you don't use Google's keyword tool, how do you know the product is low competition?

How long does it take for the product review to get to no.1? I've used the same technique as you, but after a few months I am still only on 2nd/3rd pages of Google for certain sites.

    Congratulations!

Couple of questions that could be useful for others as well and I'm just curious myself as well:

How many pages did you have to create to reach 30 unique visitors a day?
    Did you do any linkbuilding?
how many content did you put per page?
I understand you create 1 page per product correct?

$600/month is not bad at all I think. 4% from $1000 revenue = $40/weekend = $20/day right, you should also throw in a bunch of cheap products to get your 6% or 8% fast. Then it really gets interesting.

Now invest all the money you make into content writers and scale it up HUGE, that is the strength of internet, there is no end and you can spend as less time as you chose to to get rich!

      1) I'm at 52 posts. Each with 300-400 words max. 30 unique visitors started occurring at 35 posts. But now I noticed the traffic is going up steadily with the other keywords ranking.

      2) No linkbuilding but the use of onlywire (social bookmarking) and pingler.

      3) Content - 300-400 words. 3 links to the Amazon page. One-two pictures. Each product review that I write about typically takes about 10-15 minutes max. I type really fast..
If I'm focus on a site I post 2 a day. With the other sites I post 1 a day.

      4) 1 page per product yup. Each page is a new product on that niche.

      I'm definitely scaling up !

Thanks for the replies. I assume that it's 1 post per product and all your products are in the same niche? Are you using a silo structure within that? How did you choose your domain name for the site?

        Thanks.

Yeah they're in the same niche. A bit of a wide range of products but in the same niche.

No silo structure since these are too easy to rank. Just good content.

Domain name isn't EMD. I went for a brand name that people can remember/bookmark. For example: http://gadgets101.com , http://heavydrills.com, etc. etc.

And no problem about answering the questions. I'm just trying to give back since I've learned a lot from others as well.

Superb work man, my question is this:

What are the factors you're looking at to determine whether the competition is weak or not. If you're moving up the rankings so easily, you must be making the right choices there, so I'm curious what tool you use/signs you look for?

            Thanks and congrats!

Google + SEO Quake. If the top 10 are PR N/A or 0 then bingo. I look into their sites and see what they got going on. Most of them that are PR N/A or 0 are copied content from Amazon, or just a picture with a small list of descriptions, which makes it a lot easier for me to rank.

First off, CONGRATS big time on your success buddy I'm on the same Amazon niche site boat with you but I haven't sold anything $1000+. My highest priced item sold at about $550 and I remembered it was a saxophone lol.

One thing I really want to ask you is about the review. Do you think 300-400 words for each review is too short? Can you give me some general guidelines on what sections you put in your review? Things like "overview," "features," "pros & cons," "customer reviews" etc.

My reviews are always up to more than 1k words and they seem to work well. But ya know, I do all the work myself atm plus a 9-5 so it's really hard to catch up. So if a short review still convert that good, I'd be much more relieved

Thanks buddy. Ways to go. Let's make this business model to a whole new levels. Cheers!

In my opinion 300-400 is just about right. But at the same time it really depends on what you're selling. With these "targetable" keywords, people want to buy the product they just want to hear what others have to say before they go for it. With 1,000 words or more they might have no interest in reading it and just leave your page.

          So...the format I follow

          Introduction
          4-5 features
          the summary.

Honestly I use this Acer RL70-UR10P Review | My Tool Review Blog as my guide. It's one of wolfmmiiis demo sites.

That really hit me. I know that long review articles have their own advantages. But it would be harder to keep the visitors interested to scan through the reviews. So I will bookmark the site and study it later

One more thing I want to ask you is how many sites do you have atm? And what is the average conversion rate of all? What are your highest and lowest conversion rate numbers?

I always use brand new sites and never have problems with sandboxing. For example, I built a few sites for clients using his strategy and my software the week before last. The reviews I posted were indexed and ranked on page o e within a day or two and they are still sitting on page one.

I also have sites if my own where reviews that I posted a year ago are still sitting on page one. My blueprint strategy definitely works and works well.

Smart choice on keeping the number of links to Amazon at a max of 3. I noticed that when you put more links the pages will rank poor. Not a bad investment either, if you outsourced all of it you would be done for a couple hundred dollars, DANG that is like 100%+ profit in the 1st month.

Too true. If you read all the stuff here in this thread, there is a GREAT amount of key tips that are useful and better than some of the products being sold out there. I am new to the WarriorForum and I can't believe I could learned so much more so much faster had I found it sooner.

There's a lot of great threads here which tend to get lost in the mix. This is one of the better threads I've seen in awhile.

Don't forget, you can sort threads by rating. You'll find a lot of good information that way.

I used to jump around because one thing wasn't working. I've learned this is a bad bad bad bad thing to do. I witnessed it too with other colleagues that did internet marketing. They jumped constantly because they weren't getting any results. And so they would make a new site and implement a new strategy, and they wouldn't see results once again. Then they kept repeating to the point of no return.

I only jump to something where I clearly know that my site is garbage. How would I know? Just by looking at it and getting opinions from others. I think over time I figured out what's a crappy site (not just the design of it), but overall. And even till this day I'm doing what I can to make my sites even better.

I've been sticking with this particular game plan and it's been working for me. It's created an authority based site as well with all the content. I also make a FB + Twitter page for my sites.

But seriously, there's people where they have a bad game plan/structure where they jump all over to a point where they can't even focus on making one site better. They leave it there making it extremely crappy.

If you focus your energy one step at a time and you're patient, then good things will happen. As long as you truly believe in what you do, done your research, and as mentioned; have a strong game plan you'll do well. In my opinion at least.

One advice. Everyone targets high priced items which is fine but if you Target lower price items, they fly off the shelves and makes your commission percentage jump higher faster.

I don't look at the numbers. I don't focus on google keyword tool. I look at what I believe is an upcoming trend of that niche/product and I go for it. As wolfmmiii said, some of these products will be duds; as in no one will buy them or look for them. But at the end of the day you're adding more content, building up your site.

I should be mad at you, I was in the middle of watching Love and hip hop when I decided to check the wf for any interesting threads, now I don't even care about watching the rest of that crappy show, because this is so much better.

I'm really happy to hear your doing well with your IM career, Wolf's method is a good one, I'll try it when I'm done experimenting with my new site. I was going to make a few niche review sites, but now I'm thinking of going back to my old way of doing things and having a authority site with brand-able domain.

I been able to find plenty of keywords, all are more than 7,000 searches a month, and top ten results are pr 0s ,1s, with little to no backlinks.

The thing is I might as well build a authority site and rank pages instead of building a site for each one. Plus I like to build good sites so each one takes me 4 or 5 days just to get everything way I like it.

The thing with wolf's method is you have no way of knowing how much traffic you'll receive because these keywords don't show up in any keyword tool as having a monthly search volume if you look up "samsung model abc" Google keyword tool will give you this - meaning nobody searches for that keyword, but in reality that specific model may actually get searched a lot.

Yo Nest28! There is absolutely no way to know how much traffic you'll receive but over time I realized that I'm having a lot more fun adding content. (I write my content, so I could only imagine how much of a pain it would be if you're investing that much for writes and nothing comes back in return).

It takes about literally 10-15 minutes for me to write a review. I just keep writing and there will be those gems that pop and shine!

Update: There's this $100 tablet that people are purchasing left and right at this moment. I would have never thought I could have made sales because of the brand and what not. But I think that's the key. To not judge on any product and just keep building.

Say you decide the target the following keywords:
        "samsung 4034x2"
        "samsung 4034x2 price"
        "samsung 4034x2 lowest price"
        "samsung 4034x2 best price"
I assume that you don't create a post for each keyword, but instead just create one post that targets all the keywords by including them all at an optimal quantity?

What (if any) off-page seo do you do to target a new keyword like "samsung4034x2 best price" when you already have a post for "samsung4034x2"?

Also, what kind of CMS do you use for your site? Just wordpress?

Do you find most of your traffic is coming from Google, Bing or Yahoo? Or is it evenly split between all three search engines?

If you're doing very little link building then I guess the quality of the content must be what is attracting your traffic?

Congratulations by the way on a very inspiring thread!

My advice - don't let those long (or early) work hours mess with your health/fitness. Take up sports if you haven't already done so. I find that success at IM fuels success at sports/other things in life, which in turn makes me work harder at IM... you get the point.

Oh yeah sports/fitness, otherwise you can't focus and be succesfull right, and perhaps even burn out? You know what also works well for that? Nag a bit on forums now and then and yell at your employees, great way to get rid of frustrations

Oh TRUST ME. My HEALTH is super duper important. I HAVE to workout lol. Sometimes I probably spend more time at the gym than doing internet marketing. And I think that's what hit me the other day. I've been dedicating my time in working out. I told myself man, this dedication and a little bit of pain/struggle (like lifting), will get me the results I want/need in online marketing.

Hey Paul I also bough this ebook by wolf and setting up my first site. Since im from europe I have a LOT less competition. One question though. How do you do your onpage SEO? I mean for a review how many words and density. I guess the pics you are also keyword targetting? If so, how many pics + keywords?

    best wishes!

The word "review"? I put it on the Title and that's it. I don't even have an h1 tag. Keyword density? I don't focus on that. What I focus on is making sure that the content is good, that's it really.

If you have no competition, you can easily dominate the first page.

Hell, I've seen people rank even if the content doesn't make any sense lol! But no, I don't focus on keyword density %.

I don't know how to upload pics right but check that out.

This happened the past weekend. And yes there will be days where there are no sales. I'm not going to hype things up. BUT when I see something like this, it automatically tells me that SOMETHING is working so what do I do? SCALE UP. (I also think some of those clicks were counted from myself because I wanted to test out if the link worked lol).

I figured I wanted to start a thread for once where people can gain some insight from someone that started from the very start. If you see my past threads, it's asking tons and tons of questions. Hell, I bet paulgl, wolfmmiii and yukon were probably already pulling their hair just from all my questions but I want to succeed. And they helped me out. Like I said, for anyone that's new don't be intimidated to even send these people private messages. I was scared of paulgl with his responses on the forums but I was like man, this guy probably knows his s*** so I'm going to private message him. When he would respond he'd go into full detail; the same goes with the other people that I mentioned on my first post of this thread.

What I like about his (and yours) strategy is that it is win-win situation. At least in theory, because I'm only researching the whole Amazon affiliate thing.

As far as I understand, you are making good and useful sites for buyers, with "human" domain names. You are not spamming 5 billions backlinks across the universe. You are not duplicating content. You are trying to be in the place where people just starting to go.

I think that this strategy is "positive" from many modern marketing points. So - wish you luck and will be reading this thread with pleasure.

        Absolutely!! Thank you!

Oh and guys, when I write my review I make sure I don't just look at the description of the product on Amazon and re-write it. Like Wolf has said, chances are, the person already looked on Amazon...

        SO....let's say I'm selling a "CyberTron 29382x7 Gaming PC".

In that review I'll be more personable and in my opinion that's what viewers/potential customers want".

I'll write somewhere along the lines like "I noticed that the CyberTron 29382x7 Gaming PC has an Nvidia GTX 290 graphics card. With this graphics card, you can run Diablo 3 with no problem!"

As you can see, you'll be more educated with that product, and what that product can offer with what it has (if that makes sense). I noticed that a lot of reviewers will say for an example like this, "So and so comes with this graphics card." And that's it! But what about it? Will this graphics run extremely smooth on a particular game? Or whatever product you're talking about.

You want to gain their trust. In this example, the fact that I know about graphics card + the latest games out there makes the customer really believe in the review, and they'll probably want to buy the PC.

So I just do my research, take notes, learn that product more than what Amazon describes and then I turn it into a 300-450 word product review.

Man, you got my internet ADD stirring up again. I already had my day planned out, but I'm going to have to reserve some time to research into this, haha.

The thing is, my article writing team is geared for adsense, and probably doesn't have the persuasive skills to write for amazon. That's actually why I haven't dove head first into this yet. I haven't found a good person to outsource the copywrite and I'm not writing content ever again myself

For high-priced items, which is good, but if your target price project, they flew off the shelves, so that your commission rate to jump higher and faster.

wolfmmiii, GGpaul, I have also planned to use Amazon Affiliate seriously, I have account around 3 years old and I just made $18 but from now, I want to work for Amazon Affiliate.

I have registered a domain name "UseMyReviews.com", please guide me about how many products I should use per page, and how the page format would look, if you can mention any example it would be good for me.

    Thanks in Advance!

Find a niche whether it's electronics, wheels/tires, automotive, baby products. With usemyreviews you'll be all over the place reviewing all sorts of products. I haven't tried that yet, as I stick to a particular niche.

I post non stop. I post about 1-2 posts a day on each site. I'm now at 54 posts, and 14 on my newer one.

I have maybe about 4-5 paragraphs. After the first paragraph I'll have a "click here to learn more" on its own paragraph (click here is the link to my amazon affiliate). And I'll have "click here to purchase this product" at the very end (last paragraph of its own).

I'll have one or two images wrapped around the content. Left side.

I'm not asking you to post your own site, but would it be possible to post a site that does this amazon affiliate model well as an example of the content, site layout, structure etc. etc. that we're all talking about?

My sites (and this is what my blueprint guide taught Paul) are all "authority-type" sites. They consist of 50-100 products per site and I post 1 review per product per site. Each product gets it own review.

I target only low competition products that meet certain criteria.

When we're talking about "low competition products", is there some base measure of popularity you use to make sure a product actually sells?

There are some products on Amazon that never sell, or sell 1 unit a year. After you've established a product is low competition, how do you make sure it's popular enough to be worth your time?

This is where I look for a niche that I'm familiar with. I do a little bit more research than just going through Amazon itself. And from there I make my own judgement. I ask several questions, how important is this product? Will this product sell? Will people like this product?

At the same time, IF it doesn't sell or become popular, then at least I have added on content on my site. "Building authority."

I really would like to try this technique. I did not try it yet, but really interested to experiment with it.

I would say from my experience of person doing some books scouting and book reselling - you can check something that is called "Amazon Best Sellers Rank". Each item on Amazon has this rank.
The Lower the Rank - sooner item would be purchased. For example, items with rank 1-100 are just flying out from the shelves - they are That popular. Items with the rank 10000000 and more not getting many customers (like 1-2 a year).
          Maybe it can help you.

So if your strategy is to have an authority niche type review site and you don't do any backlinking, how do you build you rank in the SERP for specific products.

For example, let's say I have a niche where people are heavily seeking information about certain models within the niche...

Let's say we have three products (let's use crayons for example):

      Crayola Blue Lavender Crayon
      Horizons Green Olive Crayon
      Warrior Super Red Crayon

Obviously these are highly targeted, model/product/company keyword phrases. How do you rank for your individual posts according to these specifications. I mean if you do a review for "Warrior Super Red Crayon", chances are that's the only time you are going to have a page/post on your site dedicated to that because you are only reviewing it once. How does this get you a higher ranking in the search engine for whatever SPECIFIC product review you are doing?

Glad to see that you're fairly new and off to a good start, I'm looking to do the same and I particularly like to watch successful noobs because it's motivational and shows that you got started off on the right foo!

Im on the way building my first authority page with low competition products. But I'm also targeting low competition keywords for those products in general. i.E "Smartphones with a keyword review" or something like that. Id like to make pages about it and additiional write reviews about those products.
      Im not using an EMD.

Another question: Has anyone tried the ProReview Theme? Im thinking about buying it because it looks awesome to me and easy to handle.

But Id like to try wolfs plugin also!

    Hey Paul,

Great success story man! I too am moving away from the microniche sites and into a more authority space - at first I was going to move away from Amazon completely but I now see that it still can be viable without doing all the spammy backlinking practices I was into a year or so ago.

One Idea I had was to use a "catchall" domain like the previous posters UseMyReviews.com and build out subdomains for the various niches... any thoughts on this?

I try to stick to a certain niche. If I'm doing something like electronics I'll make my domain hxxp:protronix.com or something along those lines.

Then I'll make another site for another niche but I really do go for a brand name.

It just makes things more organized for me too.

Congrats, very motivating post. I'm also starting to see some success now that I've gone down the low competition route. Getting the same unique visitors as you, but only made 4 sales so far, but hey, at least we know that this model works.

Sounds as if you purchased Wolfmmii's blueprint, like I did. Definitely going to follow it to a tee on my next site, as I started my current one before I bought the guide. Hope to replicate your success.

I choose to stay away from exact-match domains. Stay with a domain name that's "brandable". Use something that people will want to come back to without needing to find me through search.

    GGpaul, Congrats on your success.

The Google SERPs are really weird. I wrote a review a few weeks ago on a low competition product (about 600 words long), yet it isn't even ranking in the top 10.

What is in the top 10 though for the keyword? Spammy wordpress.com pages and blogger blogs for the product with no original content. How do you rank so quickly when the SERPs are like this?

I've been hesitant to try this method because I out source my content, and was afraid to pay for articles on products they may end up being duds as wolf calls them. Than it hit me, this method is very similar to the one I used with adsense that allowed me to make a full time income.

I can't believe I said , "oh I would like to try this but there's noway of knowing how many searches a keyword gets" when I based my whole business model on the exact same principles at one time. Those long tail phrase have almost no competition so like everybody says it will be easy to rank fast and start earning money.

Too early to give you exact figures. Give me 2-3 weeks haha. Taking this to the next level this upcoming week.

The numbers change because I have a wide range of products. Anywhere from $100-$400.

GGPaul, do you focus on products which were only released recently i.e. in the last 1-2 months or do you promote any low competition products as long as the first page comp is PR0?

How long does it usually take you to find niches which have products released in the last 1-2 months?

I've searched popular niches for products released in the last 1-2 months, but it often doesn't find any products. So if new products aren't even being released in many popular niches, it must be tough to find ones that are especially when going for more obscure niches.

I can find no fewer than 100 products that have become available within the last month or so and I can do it in under 10 minutes. I think GGPaul would agree.

Of course, I'd rather not give that info out in public since people pay me for that info but it is actually rather easy.

        Hi Paul,

You have inspired me into IM, I cant wait to get it started now.

So you pick your niche and then just review products that have recently come out and then only review new products? Do you review older products in that niche?

Also with regards to PR, what if you google the product and first few results are amazon for that product but they rank from 2-4 would you still try that product as it is amazon ranking?

Also with regards to the domain, you dont go with an exact or near match just something that you like?

Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and i think i def could be heading over to wolfmii for his system, def worth the money by the sounds of things.

This is something people don't seem to wrap their head around

Stop focusing on the small things like KEYWORD density or H1 H2 H3 tags

Thank you, Music to my ears after researching this for so long

I'm just wondering how does you home page look like? That's the only thing I'm confused about right now. Does it have only an image with a header of your review page titles? Like Wolfii's sample website? or does it have sliders?

Sliders. It is like wolfii's sample site but the home page show a lot of sliders and recent products.

No, not at all. What I do personally is report on the products I'm reviewing. There are certain niches I am very knowledgeable in so I can discuss certain aspects and features of those products without actually owning them. I actually make it clear in my own reviews that I don't own the products. I'm very transparent.

Report on products your reviewing...discuss certain aspects and features of those products...So its not really reviews but more like product descriptions made in a more "friendly" & personnal writing?

GGPaul, out of your reviews have many of them outranked sites such as Amazon, epinions, next tag, etc.. on the 1st page or did you get to your current visitor level by being ranked behind those sites? It seems that post Penguin, those authority sites are dominating the SERPs more for product keywords than before.

I've outranked Amazon. But like Wolf said, people that look for a review probably have seen the Amazon page. Therefore they want to read a review from another site.

    @cooler....

I know the question is directed at GGpaul but I'll give you my experience until he shows up. It doesn't matter if you outrank amazon, etc. people looking for reviews are going to be looking at multiple first page results so as long as you can hit page one, you are usually good. Also keep in mind that most people have already been to amazon so they aren't going to go there again if they are looking for more info.

That's 3 times higher than mine buddy I guess I will implement the short versions of the reviews soon and see what it would come up. Do you think if the factor that you're doing reviews on new released products lead to that high conversion rates?

Get on Google Webmaster Tools and optimize your site for any decent keywords that show positions 5-20... you can probably increase traffic 5-10x with just a few small but targeted backlinking campaigns and some on-page optimization. GWT reports tons of data that most (99%+) webmasters don't use.

I would but dude, I'm like traumatized to even do backlinks nowadays LOL! Ever since BMR went down I got lost for a good minute. And then wolfmmiii strat basically helped me out.

I know what you mean, lol!

But all is not lost... get some links from high PR blog posts on private networks or hire someone to do guest blogging on your behalf (there are people charging $35/post on legit PR2+ blogs). Plan your anchors well and you'll only need a couple links per page to really boost your traffic. These are low competition keywords right? But you're not #1 for all of them and won't be without backlinks.

What I'm saying is - don't be scared to build backlinks, just stay away from all the usual crap and you'll be alright.

I got my first result from Amazon sales too today - 1 sale, $8 commission. Funny thing is that this person bought the product I did NOT recommend to buy (I used this product for a comparison with better and cheaper models). Maybe I should start making "anti-rating" Amazon sites, like "worst products ever" with buttons "Don't buy this from Amazon"and "Don't read more user reviews" ?

Lol, I do wonder about that. One of my niche nutrition sites has an article about a related health supplement. The article basically says "there is zero evidence that this stuff works" (because that's the truth!). Adsense serves up ads all advertising the product and so far they get lots of clicks. I'm setting up an amazon affiliate link to the product to see if anyone buys it. Serves them right for not reading my articles!

There's actually an old sales trick along those lines.

What you do is have 3 similar type products, with 3 separate price points:

      Example:
      • $9.95 good
      • $19.95 better
      • $29.95 best

Chances are the buyer will purchase the 2nd item.

Look at most web hosting, they use this sales trick.

In the Hostgator example below, I'm sure the "Baby Plan" gets the most sales because they made the 1st product "Hatchling Plan" look inferior by only allowing a single domain to be hosted. Why buy a single domain host, when I can buy multiple domain hosting for a little more money?

They give the buyer options, only make the first lower priced option look like it's not as good a deal as the 2nd. The 3rd option is made to look like overkill for the majority of buyers.

      1) As I can see, you only backlink your posts, not your homepage, right?
      2) What are the main things you write in the review? For me, its pretty hard to write a 300-400 review about something I have no interest/knowledge
      3) Do you believe that your site has a long term future? I mean, do you believe that you are safe against different google updates? I see that you are also implementing social media traffic which is great!
      4) How many days did it take to get 35 visitors per day?

Im looking forward to try this amazon strategy as well. At the moment Im dealing with clickbank, but I feel that I sell sh-t to the people)still im banking quite well with it). Furthermore, adsense is not for me either... PPC looks interesting, but I guess I need to have more free money to test, test and test with it..
I have always dreamed to build a site that makes steady income and that has long future.

      Keep up the good work!
      1) Correct. I only use OnlyWire. No other backlinks.
      2) Intro - 4 key features - summary.
      3) I'm not doing any blackhat tactic at all. Haven't paid services on anything. I think my content is good enough since people are buying. The site looks great from what others have said. I've put an FTC disclosure, privacy policy, the amazon policy at the footer.
      4)It took me 2 weeks.

That's great. Were you promoting the TV's or were they unrelated sales? It's a shame TVs are capped at 4% commision.

You mentioned you use Onlywire. Isn't that limited to something like 150 submissions per month? It was when I looked at it last year. Do you think Onlywire has improved your SERP ranking or is that to just get extra traffic from social media sites?

If you guys need help just ask away. I know that wolfmmiii is extremely busy, but I've learned so much from him that I can share it to you guys.
Thats good! Funny cause one other guy over here who's got a tutorial on Amazon sites says TV's are in the DO NOT promote category! lol guess you prove him wrong

    Way to go GGpaul!

You are right, I have been very busy as of late working on a new licensing model for the Review Sites Made Easy software that you are using to create your reviews.

Let me know if you want a free premium theme that works with the system you are using. It's the least I can do for such a shining example of my strategies and system!

I have a few highly-customized themes that I use sometimes that include a built-in comparison table that allows me to easily compare any give product with 3 similar products. When using these themes, I can do lots of interlinking/siloing.

Interesting. Is it that necessary to have them interlinked? At the moment my site isn't doing that

I'm sure it doesn't hurt but most of my sites DO NOT do much internal linking / siloing. They typically don't need it.

Okay cool. I'll just stick to what I'm doing since I'm already profiting with this one site. I might do it with newer sites since they take a while to get indexed.

I am extremely surprised this works so well (and as i read your OP rather easy without any link building except bookmarking) - using Amazon product names. It's like the oldest method ever I assume you must have really good, compelling and convincing content.

Edit: I am surprised because i myself used Amazon in the past, in many different ways on all kinds of sites. So you don't use any KW tools and just look at page #1 in google? Do you use any criteria, eg. search volume?

I don't focus on search volume at all. No Google keyword tool/market samurai/long tail pro - none of that.

As far as converting - I think it comes along with the theme, and the content. The way I see it is I just keep building product reviews constantly.

Are you still using Amazon? Or what are you doing to monetize?

No problem. I'm really just having a lot of fun doing research, without focusing on the "numbers"." Putting out good content on something that I know about it, , putting a lot of time to make my site look better, and engaging with social media (not only just blasting out links with onlywire), but actually spending time with my followers.

Okay guys, I'm going to be disappearing for a while. I'm going to try to aim $150 a day consistently. I need to fully focus on my sites. Trying to get an Acura NSX (my ultimate dream car). The car I'm driving right now is at 334k miles. Which prevents me from visiting my gf (long distance) cause I have to past the grapevine (uphill mountain).

Glad you guys enjoyed the thread. Honestly, Wolfmmiii is the guy to help you out. He's extremely busy, and may not respond right away. But go to his site and you can communicate with him there. He'll get back to you one way or the other.

I just want to conclude that his strategy helped me out and it prevented from quitting online marketing. Like I said I was tired of purchasing all kinds of WSOs, they were a waste of time, over hyped. This is probably the best investment I've ever done.....next to BMR when it was super cool LOL! Peace.

You just described the exact opposite of this strategy. Why target products that a million other affiliates are targeting when you can target products that nobody else is promoting and rank easily?

I built a brand new site for someone last week or so. The site was ranked and the 3 sample reviews on the first page and getting traffic within 3 days.

GGPaul has said he won't be around much (busy implementing my system). However, we basically just look at the first page of Google to see what the competition looks like.

I posted a review of a product on August 17th around noon. By 1pm, it was ranked and seeing traffic. I've already earned commissions from that particular product.

Oh, I should also note: Don't worry about getting to number one. It's not necessary. I mean, it's always nice but because of the way this specific strategy works (coupled with the intent of your typical searcher), getting onto page one is usually all you need to do (above the fold preferably).

Hey folks, I'm about to head to bed so I decided to add a little update.
I'm liking the results I've seen so far. This past weekend I had a really good conversion rate and sold a good amount of items.

In order for me to scale up, I've created a strong plan to hit my goals. I'm now expanding on 6 sites, each will end up with 50-100 product reviews by mid September. More details later. Take care!

Is your site brand new? If so, keep building.

The one site that's working for me right now gets indexed fast and that's probably cause its been established for quite some time now (the domain name that is).

I purchased a new site and my content takes longer to get indexed. But the more I started posting new reviews, then that's when the older posts started to click in to the first page.

      Just keep building.

thanks for the advice mate. Its an aged domain from 2004 which had no content on it and only recently started adding content like a week and a half ago. I will keep posting and hopefully like you said it will establish itself and index faster.

The more frequently you post content, the more your site is spidered. The more spider activity you get, the faster you are indexed / ranked.

Remember folks, this is a strategy that works. However, it does require some work.

I'm posting content using wolfs strategy and I can say as soon as I hit submit on Wordpress my post is indexed and ranked almost always within 30 mins max usually quicker. The site is on an aged domain with around 50 reviews and counting, One review I did one day ranked number 1 and made a sale don't know how often this happens but it's a great motivation boost.

People have just got to take action buy wolfs guide, put some work in and you will be rewarded

Thanks newy. Aged domains certainly don't hurt. However, I typically see the same results on brand new sites as well. Much comes down to personal preference with this strategy. I'm glad you are finding success with my strategies.

Woke up this morning and was surprised by this today.

This is with 2 of my sites. One (the one that's helping me the most) gets about 70-80 views a day now and the other one (new site) gave me 13 views.

    Not too shabby.

Anyways I'm working on 5 sites now. Hopefully this will turn out well.

It really boils down on having great content =D.

This is very inspiring, it's kinda giving me a wake up call. I've gotten really lazy recently, working hr a day or something. Also I need 5 teeth taken out and been in a lot of pain so that's another reason why I haven't work to much lately but this thread is enough to make me work through the pain, so thanx Paul and Wolf.

100 clicks a day? Or accumulated 100 clicks? If so, keep building.

Yeah, if it's 100 clicks total, it's too small of a sample size. I think I actually gave that exact advice to GGPaul when he was starting out.

When you target low-competition products that very few others are promoting, Google is practically begging for good content to show.

I own roughly 10 sites (the kind I taught GGPaul to build). Whenever I post a new review on any of them, it is usually indexed and ranked on page one of Google within minutes and almost always within 24 hours.

Following my system requires no more than the initial automated social boookmarking of each new product review to rank. I haven't built backlinks to any of my sites in probably a year.

      Thank you wolfmmiii!

Next question I have is about search volume and competition pertaining to this method. I have read tons of advice regarding what to aim for when targeting for keywords/phrases. I should note that at this time I am just using the google keyword tool. Most of the info I've read stresses mid to high competition level and at least around 2000 exact monthly searches.

It would seem that for this method, the search volume is not that important. For example, if you searched for xbox 360 it would get millions of exact matches but a ton of unbeatable google competition. But let's say you searched for "xbox 360 sony goggles" and it only got a few hundred or less exact local searches/month.

Is this the type of product suitable for including in your niche review site? Obviously a good amount of people searching for a specific (but not widely popular) product are looking/thinking about buying. Does this mean that the information regarding search volume is pretty irrelevant and that these are the types of products I should be looking to promote with affiliate links?

        @beastmodemike:

I never even look at search volume. I use a specific strategy to identify low competition products and I target them. As I mentioned on other thread, some will be duds (it happens). However, you will hit home runs as well. In the end, it's much easier to just create content then worry about building backlinks.

Targeting products that other affiliates are not makes this an easy task.

Nope. The sites built using this strategy have been largely immune to that stuff and for good reason.

I just want to throw a rant out out there. There are some crappy threads being posted and it's pissing me off. I guess people just really want their sites indexed or something with their signature. I feel like Mike Anthony is the police officer though, where he just destroys every person that posts something ridiculous. .

Anyways - enough with the rant. Yeah guys, just treat this like any business. It's a great feeling to wake up at 5 AM and to see some income roll in. It just makes me want to work even harder to earn more.

My mindset is, "if I can make this much with one site, well then what about 5 more sites?"
"If I devote only 3 hours a day, what happens if I devote 8 with the proper plan and execution?" Everything seems to roll in.

Stick to plan and just do it. Don't look back, and don't slow down.

I'm now making sales on 2 of my sites =). And they're no where near finish.

You are clearly mastering my strategy. I finally got around to standing up another review site today. I've already identified 10-20 products that I will almost certainly rank on page one almost immediately once the site is running. The best part is that the products are in an uncapped niche where the products are expensive.

Once I get through the sites I'm building for my clients, I'll get started on it. I'll let you know how things go.

What time do you guys usually go to bed? I get most of my IM work done at night between 8 - 11PM ... since I have a 9-5 working for the man.

I am usually more productive in the morning ... so I am wondering if I should shift to waking up around 5, and getting 3 hours of work in before I head off to my other job.

I keep telling my wife I'm going to start going to bed earlier and doing internet stuff from 5am-8am but I still wind up on the forums and building websites for people most of the night. It's 11:20pm here and I still have 2 sites to setup. I'll wind up going to bed around 2am or so.

Nope. I found a product 0 reviews that got me almost 15 views a day alone. And who knows, I saw there was a review afterwards. Could have been the person that went to my site and bought the product lol; and THEN that's when a review was available =D.

I think this type of common sense strategy is going to get more and more popular as people realize that quality will always help you survive whatever sorta wildlife update Google throws out. Making simple, quality and scalable sites is a winning formula all the way around. I have done similar style sites for a while and they convert like crazy and are so damn simple to start. Great info you are giving everyone here.

I am finding it tough to find a niche. I look at various products then check the searches on Google and in most cases, Amazon reviews (pr4) take up half of page 1's results.

This is a great thread, congrats on your success bro, may you reach greater heights with your IM career!! I've just built up the base of my first Amazon site yesterday and today. The core of the site is made in the more traditional Jan Roos style, so I have already put up 4 best selling products an have a high search volume buyer keyword emd. Now I am going to fill up the rest of my site with very low competition items as Wolfmiii has been instructing in this and other threads. I'm kinda shocked at the number of n/a page ranks when googling these products. I am going to be knocking out 3 reviews per day until products meeting my criteria (which is basically price) run out. I do however think that I'll be able to get a good 30 reviews written in the next 10 days. Thanks alot guys i've been learning so much by just reading through your posts.

    Just a heads up....

A big (and much overlooked) part of this strategy is a brandable domain that attracts referral traffic and repeat visitors. When you go down the EMD route, you almost certainly eliminate (to some degree) those two key benefits of such a site because most reputable sites aren't going to link to underwatercamerareviews.org nor are many people going to come back after their initial visit.

My sites receive a healthy dose of referral and return traffic and that's because they are legit, brandable sites that people remember and want to come back to.

That's the one thing a lot of people on this forum don't understand (repeat traffic).

It's 100's of times easier to monetize repeat traffic, than to monetize new traffic that has never heard of the site.

Thanks for the reply bro. I understand what you are saying, I'm still getting my feet wet with Amazon. For my next couple of sites I think i'm gonna follow your method to the T. I'm gonna get your pdf and dig into it.

So each site may have 30 or so review pages of related niche products? Sounds like a winning plan.

I've spent the last 59 months building 412 MFA sites. Each site averages 8 cents per day...I said average, some make up to 17 cents per day, PASSIVE INCOME! This income allows me to live comfortably and buy ANY flavor Jolly Rancher or Skittles I desire. Don't give in to fear, it CAN be done!

I'm making money online with Amazon too. I do things differently though.

I have a mixture of medium authority sites with both review sites and pitch products for targeted traffic.

I disagree with you though that product selection and keyword research is not important. You are increasing your work load if you don't do product selection, keyword research and product validation.

Keyword research, product selections and product validations are very important parts in an affiliate system such as amazon. Google Adwords Keyword research tool is not the only to research and validate a product. There are many ways to do that like using the Bestseller's list, Movers and Shakers, Most Gifted or Most Wished For Items and ads on google search results.

Why bother wasting 2 hours writing a review if there are no buyers for this product.

Also for people looking to get into Amazon Affiliate marketing, ignore the gurus who told you to sell only high priced items. You need a mixture of small, medium and high priced items so as to increase your commission %. Aim to hit the 7.5% as fast as possible by focusing the first one week on cheap items. When you hit this, shift your marketing efforts to high priced items.

Build niche authority sites around specific products that people buy most of the time online like nail treatments, etc. I have a site that mainly pitches products. I do not write reviews for it. I just make sure that it stays on the front page of google for its main keyword and I earn around $200 from it every month.

Also people do not forget to scale, once you are making a solid $100 from your sites. Rent writers from philipines or india or your neighbours to write reviews for you. Just do the product selection and validation and watch how your bank account increases.

Anyway nice going GGPaul. Keep up with it and don't forget to scale if you want to earn big money!

We all operate our businesses differently.

Here's the truth. And the honest truth. I'm making $$ consistently every day now with this particular strategy. Am I going to wipe everything out and start fresh with a whole new strategy? No. What am I going to do? I'm going to rinse and repeat, and scale up.

Who said it takes about 2 hrs to write a review? It takes me literally 5-10 minutes to make a review. And I never said that I don't do product selection. Why is my conversion rate so high? Because of product selection.

I never said DON'T DO keyword research. But at the same time, I DON'T do it because I have my own strategy. I'll stick with what works for me. And this is it. ON TOP OF THAT, I'm enjoying it.

      Thanks for the post.

If it works for you, then all the best to you. I was just trying to share my techniques.

I would really like to see how you manage to turn visitors into buyers with a 10 min review though. Can you provide a sample?

I find that conversion increases with a highly descriptive review, though I tend to do this only for high priced articles. I assume that the person will want to have all the information available before committing to a buy.

I wouldn't like to share any of my sites BUT here's an example of Wolfmmiii's site.

Acer RL70-UR10P Review | My Tool Review Blog

I type really fast (170 WPM), and I don't know, I've been in school for too long that I've written all kinds of essays. It's like second hand nature for me to write.

Funny, I've been selling highly priced items with only 350-400 words.

It's cause I'm driving a "targetable audience." People with the "buyers mentality." People that are already close to buying the item, they just want to hear what another person has to say about it before they go for it.

None of my keywords are "how to do this/how do that. Cheap computers, the best toy, the coolest sex vibrator" etc. etc.

            @Ggpaul & wolfmmiii

I have had wolfmmiii's Review Sites Made Easy for a few weeks now but this thread has really pushed me to do something about using it so thanks to you both in particular, as well as to all who have contributed.

To that end, in regard to the example of Wolfmmiii's site above would you consider the domain chosen for it to be typical of what you would choose as a brandable domain name for such a niche or was it a "throwaway" sort of choice given it was for a sample site?

I am a little bit stuck on deciding on a suitable domain name for the niche I am looking at trying, so any tips on how I can brainstorm some options would be appreciated.

I definitely go for a brandable name. Let's say you sell tires you can call it superprotires.com or whatever.

@GGpaul or wolfmmiii, if you had to choose between a domain like "cordlessdrillreviews.com" versus say "toolgadgetsreviews.com" which one would you see as a more "brandable" authority site proposition? In both cases does it appear too "spammy" to have "reviews" in the domain?

                Cheers

Neither domain name appeals to me. Both appear spammy in my opinion.

No, what a person typically wants is social validation, not information when they are late in the buying cycle. Chances are good that the visitor has already been to Amazon and already knows all about the product since he has narrowed his focus down to a specific product.

I don't mean this in a negative way but it's sounds like you may not have a full understanding of the buying cycle and how people search during different phases of it.

By catching people late in the buying cycle, you have to do very little pre-selling / convincing. That's why this strategy works so well.

            Hello woflmmiii,
            I have a few questions.
Your product reviews is what basic on? The Amazon consume reviews? If you do not rewrite the Amazon product description, don't rewrite the Amazon consume reviews, and how do you write product reviews? social validation from where?

            thanks

Paul has it right. Two hours to write a review? Man, if I spend more than 15 minutes, I'm working too slowly.

I will say this though, Paul; most people are not using the same software that we are to create reviews. As such, review creation will take longer for those folks (sometimes considerably).

I don't spin articles. And there is certainly nothing wrong with the quality of the reviews. PM me if you'd like to know what software I'm using (posting a link here would be self-promotional).

Are you countng your research as part of that review time? I don't see being able to read the product description, several customer reviews, and writing your own review based on that information in just 15 minutes.

This is especially true because some of the products have either poor or nonexistent benefit statements.

No. I don't count my research part. I do all my research first (I search for about 10 products a day for 3 of my sites).

      I take notes.

Then I take it into action. When I take notes, and have it mapped out, I'm able to type it fast. On top of that, Wolfmmiii has a system that laid it out as simple as 1-2-3.

Update: I'd also like to add that I found a niche/products where I know the ins and outs of it. Therefore it makes it easier for me to write. I will admit there's a niche that I'm not too familiar with and it does take me A LOT longer to do.
