You could look into self extracting archives. A bit of google could get you somewhere with that.

That said, I'd certainly thoroughly evaluate why you would, as any computer savvy person would be unlikely to touch an "ebook" with a filetype of exe with a 400-foot pole.

I assume all OP cares about is getting the backlink on the download site?

Unfortunately people don't trust exe when it comes to ebooks. It's too bad. I hate the PDF format.

I love "desktop author" (DNL format) at desktopauthor.com. It's a format that I wish would take off better than it has.

If you create books in this format, you can upload them to eBrochures.com or sharewareebooks.com The sites do get pageviews AND clicks.

If you don't know about this format, check it out. I have a few eBooks in this format on one of these sites.

If I download an ebook and it shows .exe, I cancel it as fast as I can.

Yes, people don't like to open any files with the extension .exe.

But if you still want to proceed, try a google search. I'm sure you can find many converters that will work well.

Yeah, when I saw my copy of Photoshop was an exe file I immediately took out the disk and smashed it with a hammer!

        That's what virustotal is for

Guys I seriously don't think Op cares If anyone ever downloads the .exe, I think it's all about getting the backlink on the download site. You have to have an approved file type to upload in order to get the backlink.

Like already pointed out anyone with 1/2 a brain wouldn't download an .exe just to read an ebook, so the only thing left is the backlink.

I would generally agree - the only thing that got me was that he wanted to put HIS ebook on the site. If he just wanted a backlink, he could have thrown a .exe on the end, renamed notepad, or whatever. Perhaps I took too much emphasis on caring it was his ebook he was uploading.

There are so many application out there (sorry can't recall the name of some of them) but I use Kvisoft FlipBook Maker Pro...

    A few tips.
If your website(s) has being ranking for some time, software directory back links may cause your website rank down but it may help to just add at least 20 a day.

But if your website(s) is new with no back links then blast away.....
