Hi,

I am just about to launch my website and considering buying 1000 links in directories.

Is 1000 links for a NEW site too much?

    I dont think so, google even recommends you submit your
    site to directories. Do it, it will save you time and generate
    loads of back links.

        I'v just submitted my site to 50 directories manually. I'm wondering though if directory sites help much at all as far as page rank goes. I'm still learning and trying to find the best strategy for link building. Article marketing I think may be the way to go.

          1000 directories shouldn't be a problem, but make sure you spread out their delivery over 30 days, and use 3-5 different titles and descriptions. (most directory submission services should allow this.. if they don't PM me for some that do.) This will help build different incoming anchor text, as well as give you some varied content around your links. Google will place less weighting on these links than regular links, so it's best to spread out your titles/descriptions to get a broader link profile.

    You should not go for buying the links in the directories as this could be a harmful option for your site. Doing the natural link building is the best option for any new site.
