Hi

I have been wondering for some time what are the metrics "Citation flow" and "Trust flow" that are used on the majestic site explorer a metric of exactly?

Can someone brake there meaning and ultimate significance down please?

Citation: If a business listing site has an information, address about your business then it is citation. Some search engines use citation as a ranking factor. In case of small level business like cycle repair shops which don't have a website, search engines rely on the sites having a content match with the keywords.

Citation and Trust flow are very useful when examining expired high PR domains. What I always do is:

    - check mozrank (seomoz)
    - check page and domain authority (seomoz)
    - check citation flow
    - check trust flow

Often when the PA/DA are quiet high, but the CF and TF are very low, then I'm 99.9% sure the domain has primarly Nofollow links so makes no sense to check the backlinks individually.

When both of the stats are fairly high you still can't go blind on it cause the Majestic Trustflow has a huge delay when old links are removed. SEOmoz is a little bit faster though.

So if the PA/DA is real low and the CF / TF are quiet high then you can be pretty sure most good links that it had, are gone by now.

Opinion based on manually checking 500+ domains in the last 2 months

Another thing about PA/DA - can be easily manipulated with thousands of weak links. I'll write something up about trust and authority later on, it's king of a big deal now after Penguin.

So true, just spam 100.000 blog comments with scrapebox and before you know it you have a PA or DA of 60+ and a PR4/PR5 site. That's why I always do a pre-check as explained in my other post, and when all the stats seem to be on one line then I start to examine the backlink profile it self.

It's so funny to see all the "High PA/DA blog post" offers being sold on forums. Like hey it's a PR0, but has a PA of 56 so it's all good right. Must be a good domain.

Not sure about PR4/5 though, more like 2/3 with blog comment spam alone.

I once had a site move up to PR5, I also did a bunch of forum profile links but these don't have any PR of course, so yeah it's all about your scrapebox list

But you're right, many people want to know the PA/DA of blog post offers indeed. Thinking they're smart

Google Netpeak Checker, it's a great tool to check TF/CF and more stats in bulk

        Thanks for the heads up

I'd never heard of that one

Just checked a wordpress silo site of mine that's less than 2 months old and could not believe the alexa rank of under 1.75 million

I went to alexa.com to double check and found it was correct - and some additional info:

        Bounce Rate
        18.80%

        Daily Pageviews per Visitor
        5.00

        Daily Time on Site
        6:13

I'm well pleased with that, as I don't consider the site "finished" just mostly made up stuff as I went along and slapped it on the site's pages for now

MajesticSEO is pretty good. I use it with Ahrefs to get the bigger picture on my competition.

i agreed megistic seo is great tool to check citation flow and trust flow. This are some great news. I expected them to present something new considering the rate at which they developed lately. They really have demonstrated that they are the best site explorer at this moment. I'm looking forward to test this update.
