Noob question about search engines

Hi, guys. This is my first post to the forum.

I'm planning on putting together a web site and populating it with articles. I plan on writing these articles myself because I want control over the quality.

I don't want to put the web site up until I have 20-30 articles. I figured I could put the earlier articles up on Hubpages until I'm ready to launch.

My question is this. If I pull the content from Hubpages and delete my account in order to move it to my web site, will I be penalized by the search engines? Once it's gone it's gone, right?

And one more question while I'm at it. If I submit articles to Digg and other similar sites, should I avoid cutting and pasting any of my article into the description? Will doing so cause the search engines to think that my web site articles aren't unique?

Thanks for your help.

I would suggest putting the site up and place the articles as u move on..
In fact, its actually much better if you place your articles up bit-by-bit. It looks a lot more organic that way... You wont be penalized for duplicate content for placing the articles on hubpages, BUT they wont rank as high, since its not original content anymore...

Definitely agree - post your orginal stuff on your web site first and then add your articles as you produce.

Your site will get spidered more often and rank better if you keep adding fresh new content regularly rather than occasional big updates.
