.me or .net domain? which one i should pick?

Good day everybody. I am thinking to start a website where i will post funny images and i will get raffic from facebook fan page. The domain i was searching was bought by godaddy, actually i searched it several times at godaddy and than they bought it before me and want me to purchase it from them for a higher price.

So now i have other options left like .net .org .me

I know it would be better to purchase .net or .org ...But the domain i need goes nice with the .me format. Indeed it makes some sense like

Hire.me is better than hire.net
SO i am thinking to buy .me format. Does it really matter with the SEO or value of the domain? Please help me out.

    It doesn't effect SEO, but it may effect the value if you wish to sell it later.

    If it makes sense with the .me, I'd go with that!

    In all honesty - go with the .net, unless your reason is because the linguistics of your domain name will be better branded with a .me.

    For example, if your domain is in fact "hire" then .me would be better, for it would be an awesome brand title (hire.me)

    In any other circumstances you are better off with the .net, simply because it is more accepted and known and understood. It has been around longer and it more established.

    As a general rule of thumb, always go with a .com - because everybody knows websites end in ".com" it makes the web address easier to remember... After that, .net for the same reason.

      For the most part of it, I agree with Abdullah Isa.

      If you have any plans in establishing a brand around your website and the domain will work better with the .me, then go for it.

      However, if you want to build the website, promote and grow and later sell it, rather go for a top level domain like the .net.

      Not only is it easier to remember, but it is a familiar extension to Internet users. It will also increase the value of your website when you decide to sell it.
