Question About Pagerank? Confused!

Hi, I've recently decided to make my blog comments "dofollow". But I've been looking into it some more, and have read that linking to alot of other websites will hurt you pagerank as it give away "googlejuice?". This at first had me all worried, but before I switch back, I looked up how pagerank is important. And from what I've found, pagerank hardly matters. Is this true? Does pagerank really not matter. Be very greatful if someone could explain how pagerank currently works!

    My blog allows dofollow comments and is now PR4. It's only 6 months old. So for what its worth, maybe it doesn't matter all that much.

    I don't really believe that "giving away link juice"

    If anything linking to high quality sites that are very relevant will give you more crediability to Google

    If you set your blog commenting as do-follow you will be a target for more spam, your site would probably be included in some "do-follow list".

    unless you moderate each and every comment, you will have a hard time sorting out legit comments on your site.

    For me page rank is not much important what matters most is if it is indexed.

        I agreed with Thomas. Do-follow blog comments on high authorized, quality and relevant sites haven't give away "Google juice". So, Don't think too much to do Quality do-follow blog comments because its very beneficial for websites.
