Dean, thanks for the list. By chance, do you have a list of directories that accept internal links that you could share? I have seen one list, but just about every directory on that list will only accept top level url's. Thanks.

Hey Alpha Warrior,

I used genlinks to promote my site and it doesn't only look for top level url's but mostly url's that have activity and are showing signs of deep linking to increase their rating. Google Genlinks and it should be the second site that pops up.

How much time you spend on link building totally depends on the market your in, the competition i n the market and where you currently rank, plus a few other smaller factors, please be more specific in order to get a good answer.

Let's say for instance, you plan to switch your income to come solely from your website, how much time should you spend link building if this is going to be your bread and butter? On the other hand, if someone's website is more like an additional income....? In the end, wouldn't it go right back to the quality of your site? If you developed it really well, then you shouldn't need to spend soo much time link building...the site would bring in traffic naturally.

This is a very good point. OK theres 2 different ways to look at this. what your talking about here is

viral traffic (word of mouth)
Search engine traffic.

Now depending on the market your in one can work better than the other, ie
its very to get enough buzz around (viral traffic)if you are just opening up another ecommerce store that sells gifts, so for this sort of site you may just focus on backlink but still provide a worthy site to link to.

If you are in another market that has constant followers, ie affiliate marketing well then you could focus all your attention on building a quality site, lets say for instance what most marketers charge for you give away for free well then this can cause a buzz and bingo, you have viral marketing as eveyone will be telling how great your site is because you are providing so and so.

look a sites you dont know of that are climbing the search engines(these are usually the sites that are the next big thing, eg squidoo hubpages)
Because there climbing so quickly, google loves them because they are providing something with quality that people love.
So we go to these sites and basically insert, ,articles videos, comments all with our links.
We basically get to put our links on the best sites on the internet at any time, getting really good traffic and PR juice.

I found hubpages before anyone was using it to make money and get traffic and made a small fortune through it.

Yes thats right. Check out metafilter.com instead. its high PR and uses follow links. Requires a small sign up fee but is well worth it

Your list is nothing new. All your methods have been discussed in detail here.

Are you sure you're not sharing this to sell your "blueprint". To protray that you know some secret your guarding in your blueprint that will sell as a WSO for X amount of dollars.

If you want to give something to this community give the blueprint that will inevitably be rehashed stuffed that you've learnt from this forum anyway.

Just my honest 2 cents. Only time will tell.

Read the above comments, the methods are new to some people, it all depends on your experience.

Now my friend if its a blueprint you want, tell me a market that you would like to rank (ie the niche and a few keywords )for and il give you a blueprint based on my experience and methods.

Il compile when i have a chance.

And NO i dont know any secret in my eyes but many a people have told me i do have a secret that i dont tell anyone.

Il let you be the judge of that.

And sorry i have not learned my methods from this forum although it has opened my eyes to certain areas and give me new ideas.

google it, its really handy for picking up plr articles, get them re-written then post it on there many sites pointing back to yours, a lot of the sites have fairly good PR.

ok so, my brother recently got laid off his job in ireland (recession) so he wants to build a website and make a few pound. i told him id give him all the help he'd need. he just got the website uploaded last night, keep in mind hes a complete beginner, it will be a while before we start seo it but have a look in the meantime (i removed url as my friend advised me to as the site isnt established and if competitors see it they will spam it and get in de-indexed.)

Sheesh, if you're buying that crappy stompernet stuff, then you dont' know what you're talking about. sure, there's some stuff in there that works, but i've found at least 4 things in it that are not even true and been myth busted over a year ago.

Good list that you have shared there. The challenge is to put it all into a workable plan.
I think that you're on the right track by trying to do lots of different off-page methods, not just focusing on article marketing or blog commenting etc.

Once you have a plan or 'system' you can then replicate it across all of the different websites that you're promoting.

the same way you do it for your own site, instead, you're just submitting someone elses site that has your link on it, u direct it to the page your link is on.

why? it creates a semantically related referance that boosts your ranking score

Good information although too general. Seo is time consuming therefore it would help if you at least mention how many times you do each of the things you mentioned. Don't get me wrong its a good informative post.
I would also add getting EDU & GOV links, they are highly regarded by google. You can either buy them or you can seach for Do Follow University (EDU) forums

Askloz, in a certain sense i would agree they are overrated, but only in some areas, in other areas they completly over deliver there stuff. They have helped me make a good life through the internet so i would never not recommend them.

You say you have busted some myths, where would i find such detail? i had a look through your blog and found nothing, however i did like your case study.

Askloz: Can you give us any more info re the myths about Stompernet, or where we should go to find out more about this? Im currently putting together a little wordpress site where i am revealing absolutely everything i know on making money online.

This wont be your average blog as each post will be more of a blueprint rather than an article. Step by step instructions so people can put in use.

The only problem im having is getting time to get the blueprints written up and the site as its just a project on the side.

Yeah, this is a good post. Guest blogging and content distribution is really powerful, especially because of the relationships you develop.

(When you contact the site owners, do not ask them, hey do you want an article for your site but ive my link in it, he will just say no. say it like "hey, i have some really good articles that might interest you and your readers, ive also included my url but feel free to remove it if you dont like the article" 90% of time the link is left in the article if its good.
Insert articles in article directories with relevant links back to site. track these articles and when other websites pick them up offer them more articles free in exchange for links, works like a charm. (you should also cross link all your articles to pass juice, it also dosent look as spamy and gives more credability.
Contact site owners for link exchange (Think outside the box here)e.g type in your main keyword in google, go to the 3-4th page, these sites usualy have a good PR and are willing to exchange links than page 1 results. check the link page is recently cached and has less than 50 links, check for nofollow.
Contact site owners and ask them would they be willing to conver a keyword on their existing article to point back to your site in exchange for articles (articles with your links)
copy all of your competitors backlinks (use seo elite for this, get lots of different IP addresses
Use Isnare article distribution. (be carefully using this, make sure you have quality backlinks first and only use once a week, twice at the most)
Back link solutions
article underground
paid per post reviews
Directory submissions (especialy paid ones, but only who pass PR juice)
Social bookmarking (from different IPs)
PR Pumpers site creation on different IP addresses. (build 20 mini niche sites, each site should focus on 1 or2 keywords of your money site, build links to these sites and PR, pass the PR to your money site, link out to your competitors once or twice so it looks natural)

Method 28, Web2.0
Web 2.0 is very powerful. in terms of the traffic you get and to place your links in the sites. I will give you 1 very powerful strategy i am using,

Ok i have a lot of success posting articles on web 2.0 sites eg content sharing sites

Gather
flixya
cafepress
freewebs
wetpaint
Hupages
Squidoo

Now heres the trick, all the above sites, google loves but what we wont to do is find new content sharing sites that google loves. What we do is
go to alexa,
go to the movers and shackers section.
look a sites you dont know of that are climbing the search engines(these are usually the sites that are the next big thing, eg squidoo hubpages)
Because there climbing so quickly, google loves them because they are providing something with quality that people love.
So we go to these sites and basically insert, ,articles videos, comments all with our links.
We basically get to put our links on the best sites on the internet at any time, getting really good traffic and PR juice.

I found hubpages before anyone was using it to make money and get traffic and made a small fortune through it.

All these methods work, but its very very important you have a strategy to implement them that is key, believe me!

Unless I missed it, you left out one of the most important type of backlinks out there - high-PR forum profile links. I only do that and article marketing for all my sites and I achieve page 1 rankings easily and quickly. Honestly you don't need all the other stuff like directory submission and rss submission and social bookmarking and whatnot...

Informative thread... Although, there are some methods which I have not used but still helped my clients gain page one rankings in Google... Maybe the WF owner has something to say about the controversies within this thread... (?)
