Never saw thread on twitter ads here

Just got an email from twitter, asking me to sign up
and promote myself with their ads. I get a lot of
juice from tweets and can't fathom buying paid
or promoted tweets. But, I never toss out
options without mulling them over. I don't know
what to think.

Anyone have any experience with their ad choices?

I see the little promoted tweets or follow recommendations,
but can't even get any handle on if they may be effective.

They only show up on the Twitter website, while a lot of the people you want to see your ad are probably using a desktop or mobile client. Best chance of a sponsored tweet being effective is to write something people will retweet, because that'll get it into actual tweet streams.

Well, I already have thousands of followers and as I said above, I
get a lot of juice from tweets now. I see no reason to sponsor one.

      People should be sponsoring me...

The ads I'm talking about are what twitter shows on people's own
page. They put sponsored tweets in your timeline, and off to the
side give you promoted people to follow. Apparently that gets
you followers. Well, I already get 50+ each day due to natural
causes. Twitter offers another kind of ad that slips my mind
at the moment. I know they have at least 3.
