Stop duplicating content. Write unique content and never worry about copyscape.

7% is high, 0-2% is normal for me. Also even if it's 100% unique orginal content, copyscape is still going to pick up on something. There's too much text on the web, people tend to write the same. There's only so many combinations out there.

ie. I'm writing this now 100% orginal.

"I'm walking my dog through the park and it's late at night"

Now image how many other sites have that same phrase somewhere in their content.

You are just waiting for the Google update that tanks your site in my opinion.

Google likes originality. Period. Either reword it completely or write your own from scratch.

Lol, Google isn't going to "tank" his site over that single factor. It's 93% orginal content, come on now. He'd do fine even with it.

Come on, we both know Google is watching his site right now waiting for one more so called Copyscape approved article, spending millions in development hours just to take him down. Lets be realistic... It was funny

What's Copyscape going to do about anything?

I'm not suggesting you copy someones content, but it's not like Copyscape is going to do anything.

Why does everyone think that Google puts any stock whatsoever in Copyscape? Google most likely has its very own proprietary system for deciding how original something is. Just because Copyscape gives some random number does not mean Google sees the content in the same way.

Exactly. Since when does or would Google rely on any 3rd party entity as a source for anything, especially something this important? they do enough of their own crawling to know who's copying what.

That being said, i remember when i was first starting out in IM and I copied an article word for word (I know, shame on me...i was new ) and I ended up ranking higher than the original. You'd think Google's spider would say, "hey, where have I seen this before? oh well, its new, let me just rank this here...."

I think with the way that so many people are writing about similar subjects, your 7% is not all that bad. I purchased a plr package from 5er and almost all of the articles were 80% matches in copyscape. Go figure. I would say it depends on the length of the article. If it is 1000 words and 7% then you are fine. But @ 300 words 7% is just blatant.
