    You don't need a plugin.

Open your Wordpress theme 404.php file & replace all the code inside the 404.php with the php code below.

The forum keeps breaking the php code...

I attached a txt file that includes the php code.

      THIS!!!

Plugins add extra crap to your site, and can even cause crazy issues. I try to stay away from plugins wherever possible ... just do what Yukon says (ALWAYS), and change the 404.php.

I would go through those pages that you are 301ing and see if any have PR. If they do, I would put some content on that page and utilize the PR.

If you want to dump all the 404's into an internal page & not the Index page, you can use the code in the attched .txt file, just swap out the Google URL in the php code with your own internal page. The php goes in the Wordpress 404.php file just like the last code did.

    Example:
    http://domain.com/internal-page/
You could use this for funneling all the 404 pages lost PR into a 2nd internal page, that way you could possibly have two seperate pages with decent PR, plus you can get a better idea how much PR was lost on the 404 pages.

If you do this I would make a single page with no links whatsoever pointing at the page besides the 301 redirects of the 404 pages. Then let it all sit until the PR is updated again, see what you have to work with.
