It's the percentage of times a keyword is found on your page. The percentage you'll want really varies, however 5% seems to be good. It's calcuated again by the percentage of time the words are found in your article. If you write a 100 word article and use the keyword "SEO" 5 time, you then have a 5% keyword density of the word SEO.

Search google for keyword density analyzers, and they'll analyze the site for you.

Keyword density is calculated as :
Keyword density = Total keywords used * 100 / Total number of words in the article

I would recommend to use more of LSI keywords.

Keyword density is the percentage of times a keyword or phrase appears on a web page compared to the total number of words on the page. In the context of search engine optimization keyword density can be used as a factor in determining whether a web page is relevant to a specified keyword or keyword phrase.

This tool calculates it for all words on page: hxxp://tools.seobook.com/general/keyword-density/

and How much percentage of keyword density put in web page? better if not exceeding 5% ..

Keyword density is the amount of times your keyword shows up in your article. A good keyword density to have would be between 3% to 5%. So for every 100 words your keyword should show up at least once. Be sure not to stuff your article with your keyword because Google pays close attention to that especially after the Penguin update.

If the number of words increases, say more than 300 words then the keyword density should be calculated in same proportion, i.e. 2% or 3%

Guys, just a thought, "there is no magical keyword density number that applies to ALL KEYWORDS. Yes, keyword density is important. But it varies from keyword to keyword". You just have to make it look natural. "Enough keywords to let a visitor know what the posting is all about, but don't focus on them too much. Make it natural, and mention them from time to time as though you are talking to someone". More explanations here: source: http://www.warriorforum.com/adsense-...d-density.html

We suggest you to keep 2% keyword density and your keyword must be placed in most genuine way. You can
Calculate keyword density by using this formula

    Keyword density = Density = ( Nkr / ( Tkn -( Nkr * ( Nwp-1 )
    ) ) ) * 100.

Nwp = the number of terms in the key phrase

Nkr is how many times you repeated a specific keyword

Tkn Take the total words in the analyzed text.

Can't you people recognize a useless thread, started for no

The question is meaningless. And if you people think it wasn't,
then why reply with the same friggin stuff, over and over?
Isn't one answer to this drivel enough?

Keyword density has nothing to do with keyword stuffing.

      Different animals.

The so-called "SEO" person whoever came up with
"keyword density" tripe should be shot.
