Why does google analytics tell me no visitors

Why does google analytics tell me no visitors except myself?

I have registered 5 days already and still no visitors show. Of course, i followed all the procedure by verifiyin my site and everything when I signed up. I am certain there are some visitors because I checked my site flow every day using the cPanel provided by my host company. I am also certain it's working fine and no errors.

Any expert here?

Thanks

  • Labelguy dot net,

This is a very peculiar problem you have here. You say you are seeing your own visits in Analytics data? Because Analytics does not collect personally identifiable information, how are you sure this is your machine? Location? Pages visited?

If you are seeing traffic from your own machine in Analytics, there could be a variety of reasons why you aren’t seeing any other traffic. It could be that no one knows about your site and it has not been indexed by search engines (i.e. no one is visiting the site). If you configured any filters they could be excluding data from other visitors. The only other logical explanation is that the tracking code is installed incorrectly or you have the wrong tracking code on the site.

Are you sure you installed the proper code snippet for your particular site configuration? If so did you install it in the <head> section of your html code?

Have you placed the code provided by Analytics in your index page??
I guess it is the reason it is not showing you the traffic details.Or may be your pages are still not indexed till now.

It's also possible that at this moment you are still the only visitor to your website.

But I've heard an article talking about same problem you have. There must be some issues in your Analytics then.

It's weird, have you properly put the code in the site, where did you put the code? it's not normal five days after you verified the site yet it shows nothing. Pm me if you are still lost with it.

Seems you haven't added the code properly or see have you pasted the complete code. Add the complete code just before the closing </head> tag.

      Hello guys,

Thanks so much for all your replies. Until now, I can be absolutely sure Google Analytics isn't working properly as I can see visitors referred to my site from Warrior forum but it doesn't show in my Google Analytics!

Let me tell you guys a bit more about the site.

      It's built with Wordpress.org and I am using Hostgator.com

My site is labelguy dot net

All I can see til now is only my visits and nothing else. I started the Analytics service over a week ago. I verified my identity by putting a file into the root folder of my site and Google sent me a confirmation that they got my identity verified but til now , still shows no traffic.

      Thanks

All these things take time and never work over night. Its always mater of waiting a couple of weeks for the website to be indexed

Place the tracking code within head section of the website for all the pages that are to be monitored.

I don't think it's possible as I am using Wordpress.org that won't allow us to modify the code.

      Thanks for help anyways.

You can modify anything you want on a self hosted WP site. You do it via FTP or Appearance >Themes>Editor.

So are you telling us that since you think you can't modify your code, you haven't added the GA tracking code? Cause I gotta tell you, if you haven't done that, nothing is getting tracked! And multiple people have already told you that.

If you don't want to play with your code directly, us a WP plugin to set up your GA tracking code.
