The best video format for Amazon S3?

Hi. I have one client that wants from me a video. When I asked him what video format he wants, he said the best video format for Amazon S3.

The problem is, I never used Amazon S3.

So, can someone help me with a suggestion?

    .mp4 seems to be pretty common video format.

    The solution should be what format is best viewed across the majority of platforms.

    Amazon S3 is going to host any format.

      Yes, I think .flv and .mp4 are the two best formats to use..

    Actually the best video format is not dependent upon Amazon S3 but on the method by which you will be serving that video, the player type, the workflow you use to compress the video, the quality you want the viewer to see.

    Additionally if you want higher performance you need to serve the video from a CDN then Amazon S3, if you do not care much about the speed of delivery, then just use the best player that fits your clients needs.

    There are a lot of factors to consider, they can work together to deliver a great viewing experience but few vendors actually take the time to put together a good smooth viewing experience.
