All my adsense sites are 6-8 page sites and I wanted to make an authority site with about 20-30 pages for testing. Some people claim you can make alot more money with authority adsense sites rather than a small one.

Here's my problem with that theory, I've seen alot of big authority sites on google with adsense on it. But they are only ranking on the first page for their main keyword and 2 or 3 after that out of 30 pages or what not!

While the rest of the keywords are ranking all over the place minus the first page. Now I can rank a couple of my keywords on the first page for one niche site (5-7 pages.

So at the end of that day whats the difference if just a handful of keywords get ranked on the first page?

Is the trick to get as many keywords on the first page as I can from an authority page? And if thats the case what service on the WF can I use for big authority sites? Because most seo packages on here will allow only 2-3 keywords when they rank your site let alone 20-30 keywords!

Whats the trick?

Much more to authority than just having a lot of content. Also sure they might rank for their "main" keywords, but you have to think of those hundreds of long tail keywords they are getting ranked for. Not to mention all of your content is getting indexed fast and ranking high the moment it's published. Everytime I make a post/article on my authority sites they get indexed, 3 days later most of those articles are on page one (depending on the compeition). Literally have 1000's of keywords I'm ranking on page one for now. Most of which I haven't even done SEO for individually, except proper on-page SEO.

As far as the services go, for authority you're going to want your top anchors to be your brand ie. Harvey Weedy if I had harveyweedy.com, and http://www.harveyweedy.com. For the rest of your keywords, it's going to be expensive, since you want to buy packages your ROI is going to diminish further... Your best bet is to buy a package with unlimited anchors, or find some that go up to 10+ anchors, personally I've never been a fan of any service that offer 2-3, that's way too small.

First.. As said above Authority is much more then the amount of content, it has to do with being trusted. If you look at websites like people... new websites are nothing more then homeless people (You going to take financial advice from a homeless person?) all the way to someone with a Ph.D (PR 10 sites). Now you can have 5 pages of content and still have a PR7 but you won't be classified as an authority site either... So think of it as a blend of a large quantity of quality content that users and google trusts.

To be honest, 30 pages doesn't come close even 100's would be on the lower mark.

Do you plan on getting traffic for 5 keywords forever? If you do then please realize that's not a great idea. Authority sites can get thousands of long tail traffic that doesn't depend on individual keywords ranking which is more sustainable.

Authority site model is simply more sustainable Imo. If you rely on ranking top 3 for certain keywords, one minor shift in algo can wipe you out.

If you were ranking keywords and building a list then one can argue its better to aggressively attack keywords but with adsense, my experience is telling me not to rely on 1st page rankings but to have a sustainable content strategy which starts by getting in big niches and offering lots of content.

Now I don't run an Authority Site as per even my own description however I do have a large site, at present has over 1000 articles of content on it. I hardly ever will create links for the front page and let users handle that for me, what I do is target the keywords for where main subjects are.

Those are not authority sites you described, they're just sites with a few pages.

As far as the SERPs go, authority is hammering a single niche/sub-niche until your pages are showing up for a lot of variations of your keyword/s. Retaining traffic is another thing.
