Webmaster shows site crawl errors after site hack

A friends site got hacked because it was running an old version of wordpress. The hackers hacked into the site and put up a big Viagra and Cialis website and hosted porn!

Fast forward and Webmaster tools notifies her that her site may be compromised and she calls me. I upgrade wordpress, change all passwords and then delete all the hacker content. All good, they don't come back.

Now, because the hacker content had a slew of backlinks to it, Google webmaster tools is giving her hundreds of crawl errors as it traverses the web finding those backlinks.

Should she:
1) Ignore it
2) rebuild the structure of the hacker site and put in 301 redirects to her site to capture the linkjuice (although the anchor text is Viagra related or whatever)
3) rebuild the structure of the hacker site and put in 301 redirects to some benign site like a wikipedia article
4) something I haven't thought of

Comments are appreciated!

GWT has a tool to remove links that no longer exist on your site from the index and cache.

I believe you shouldn't 301 the hacker's files. They might attract a penalty down the road. What I would want to make sure is that all the links go out to a 404 error. That's how I would do things..
