I have noticed some serious SERP changes, 6 hours ago.
What do you say?
Is there a new Google penguin update in progress?

Couldn't find anything official anywhere...

From what Google has said, they make algorithm changes nearly every day. It doesn't have to be called "Penguin" to change something.

To tell you the truth, though, I don't worry about it anymore. If you just keep in mind that the end goal of a search engine is to provide unique, relevant, and quality content to the end user (based on what they are searching for) and deliver this, you'll be okay. The updates will actually help you. Your traffic will shoot up.

I agree with those who said that it doesn't have to be penguin. Even when google say that it is penguin, it still doesn't matter. It simply is a change in the algorithm,

Ok, now we all should know that Google has erased some sites with keywords matching domains, and I am not that convinced that they were after quality again. A year ago, you couldn't have site shoes.com and sell umbrellas.

Those who talk about final goals and quality and end-user interests , and how google is improving things.. I think those statements are bs. I really believe that's bs.

This is the most rubbish update that I have even seen. Exact much domain have been used for ages and the whole world think and build their business on exact much because GOOGLE want that. Changing this, is really playing with fire. Because all these information can not be found for the simple reason that Google doesn't know the quality of the website. Belief me they don't know the quality of the websites and a lot of good website are kicked out. So the user will go to Yahoo and Bing when they can't find what they are looking for. For example if you are looking for some kind of SHOES then eBay and Amazon are the first. Unbelievable! Have they got a deal with them!!!

Yes. There is a new update is on it's way and Matcutts has already warned us about it. "This time, there should be a lot of things which will not be liked by most of the webmasters", this was the warning from him.

It's started last night on 0 o'clock on GMT and Google serp is dramatically changed. Only big company are on the search result. I think this is useless update. Panda and Penguin was much better.

Matt Cutts announced on Twitter a couple days ago that low quality exact match domains would be affected in the SERPs, these were his tweets:

-- Minor weather report: small upcoming Google algo change will reduce low-quality "exact-match" domains in search results. --

-- New exact-match domain (EMD) algo affects 0.6% of English-US queries to a noticeable degree. Unrelated to Panda/Penguin. --
