    Let me tell your (ii) answer: Google serach method is still a mystery for many people in this world, best thing is to go to webmaster tools, there you can find according to your preference, use snippet preview it will tell you indetail of your site content.

      Use a SERP checker to check your rankings, especially if you have multiple keywords. Much easier to do. Just makes sure to pick one that actually saves and tracks your rankings for you. As far as checking multiple times per day, google isn't going to care unless you do it 100+ times for the same keyword, but it won't effect your rank. They may think you are a bot and force you to enter a captcha value. No need to check your rank for a keyword more than twice per day. I know it can be a curiosity thing, but the results aren't going to change much over the course of several hours.

    Search your keywords in google manually and check ranking. Its the best way to find keyword rankings.

    Regarding your concern over frequently checking keyword ranking on Google, I think Google doesn't have any interest in how many times you search your keyword rankings.

    It's a common misconception that Google has a way of knowing what website you're checking rankings for. What Google sees is your query and your IP address, and in the worst-case scenario you may be asked to enter a CAPTCHA or your IP address may get temporarily blocked (for up to 2 hours).

    I normally use two or three tools to check my Google Ranking.

    I use: Traffic Travis, Rank Checker (for Firefox), and Google Webmaster Tools.

    It works for me if I compare the data I get from these tools.
