I have been reading this forum for past 2 days, I just dont understand what EMD is? What is the full form of EMD?

meaning like if your main keyword is "dog training tips" and your website is

www.dogtrainingtips.com

Thats a EMD domain

  Your explanation is absolutely right and it is effective method to get fast ranking but the question is that you can cover only one keyword in one domain so you have to purchase a lot of domains if you want to target more then one keywords. Therefore i don't think it is keen source to get good ranking.

EMD means Exact Match Domains. Recently, Google released the EMD algo change which targeted low quality EMD sites. These are sites that are EMD but do not contain any relevant/helpful information on the keyword the keyword they're ranking for using their domain name. Before, EMDs can rank for their target keywords merely for having the exact target keywords on their domain name, now with the EMD algo, that is no longer the case.

EMD is exact match domain.This EMD algo change is targeted for low content and quality sites. This low quality sites have been hit by EMD update by google and have been penalized.

EDM stands for Exact Match Domain which is a Google update in which it defines that a website should not have domain exact matching with main targeted keyword of that website and a website having the same of low quality and going with unethical issues of website will be penalized for this.

Today,EMD algorithms update was being expected for quite some time and it has been already reported by SEOs on various blog. The algorithm was unleashed by Matt Cutts and his henchmen to prevent abuse of exact keyword matching domains.

EMD update may have hit some spammy sites that were using advantage of their Exact Domain match to take advantage in ranking but my experience suggests that it hit a lot of non-guilty sites as well. My site New 2013 2014 Toyota Hilux and Used 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008 Minor Change Vigo Thailand. Toyota Fortuner, Landcruiser, Prado, Nissan Navara 4x4 Pickup Truck SUV Dealer. 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004 Hilux from Thailand, Australia, NZ, UK and Dubai Dealer was hit by EMD update but the interesting thing is that it lost first page on only the Toyota Hilux Vigo and Toyota Hilux related searches. On all other searches as Toyota Landcruiser, Toyota Prado, VW Amarok and hundreds of other searches I'm still on page 1 so if I had spammy content I would have been hit on all these searches as well. In fact I have been gaining steadily on all other searches and my traffic is double than pre-EMD traffic yet alas I continue to lag in all Toyota Hilux related searches which is a big bummer as that is my best selling vehicle.

Any advise on how to recover from this curse would be appreciated.

EMD means Exact Match Domains..if your keyword is laser eye surgery, then your domain must be lasereyesurgery.com or lasereyesurgery.net or lasereyesurgery.org
but I do not know if the EMD is still effective today

I think EMD still rocks, especially if you target some brand or inudstry, unless it's something ridiculous and or has a double meaning of course.
Not only it rocks for SEO but also for Adsense and overall CTR.
I used the adsense PPC for a brand new EMD[brand].ccTLD domain and the keyword costed 4 times less before I was forced by the company to use some other domain.
