I need SEO done on a ecommerce site. I'm looking for an SEO company to eventually get me on page 1 and keep me there. There are so many companies out there promising the world. I also keep reading that buying backlinks will eventually get you banned by Google and it's only a quick fix for rankings.

Do any of you guys know any good companies to work with or maybe even fellow members that are for hire that will get the job done the correct way?

What type of budget are you looking to invest in SEO? Also, how competitive are the terms you're looking to front page?

Probably a few hundred a month. The keywords are competitive so I realize it will take time to do it right.

Sometimes a few hundred is not enough if your keywords are highly competitive. For example, if you are trying to optimize a site for the keyword "auto" on .com, you will never get high rankings. It's probably not the case, but I was just saying that it's not always possible to rank for highly competitive keywords and, sometimes, you might need to look for other, less competitive ones, that will get you results and not just waste your money. This is the case for most small businesses and maybe you should take it under consideration.
