It's basically $349 for the premium press release which syndicates to 5,700 news sources such as Google and Yahoo News.

I have a new web site that Im trying to brand in the weight loss industry. It's brand spanking new, with just 3 articles and no traffic from Google to date. Im selling an ebook for $20 and soon to be released follow up product for $30-$40.

What about the $49 submission?

Are you trying to use the press release for backlinks or to actually get published in news outlets?

PRLOG has 4,100,000 pages indexed in Google. You will be 4,100,101. Is that worth $369?

Personally I don't like press releases for SEO/backlinks, so if you're using them for that I'd say forget it.

BUT - you *can* get quality content published across the web and in high-volume news outlets, that will rank very highly in Google, *if* you write high-quality "tip sheets."

A tip sheet is the other kind of content that a press release service will publish, aside from an actual press release itself. Write one entitled, "5 Weight Loss Tips For Fall" and make sure it is VERY high quality.

Publish it through just about any of the premium PR services, and if it's genuinely high quality, it will get picked up by news outlets and you will get traffic and exposure.

I actually wasn't even thinking of doing it for backlinks but more for new direct traffic. But I suppose if it got picked up by just a few newspapers or online news sites, that it could provide a strong nofollow backlink.

I was going to write some sort of catchy headline like: Mathematician Formulates New Diet (as an example, not my actual idea). Then write about it.

They claim it gets put on Google and Yahoo news...Not sure if that means it's automatic or you have to get lucky for them to pick it up.

    Thoughts?

It might. The way Google News works is that the headline has to be optimize to get traffic and even then you won't see much. Most PRs don't show up highly in search for Google News.

For me the non-premium PR Log works okay. I don't want my press release to be in hundreds of site. I may end up getting penalized for duplicate posting and getting identical links from so many identical press releases.

      Disagree.

If anything a premium PR submits to sites of higher quality. Not more garbage sites.

Also why there be a penalty for duplicate Press Releases?
Major corp.s and celebrities do not spin press releases.

I found a decent looking gig on fiverr. It looks like it has decent value.

      I disagree too.

This term is called content syndication.

      EDIT:
@OP: I've heard many good reviews about prweb.com company. Also many users here are offering prweb service in cheap rates. Take a look at Warrior Classified Ads section.

I am not sure how far a PR would be useful in bringing the traffic to my site. But in terms of ranking it can create a very strong profile of backlinks. I usually use a high power fiverr gig to get my PR syndicated across various PR site.

This guy at fiverr submits my PR to PRBUZZ service that distributes to lot of PR sites. If you want you can check it at PR gig on fiverr

Disclaimer : I am not affiliated to that guy. Nor i am promoting anything. But i personally use his services.

Only if you have something newsworthy to "release". And then use a reseller and save $150 or whatever - save service.

I would recommend spending that $369 on PRweb.com instead of PRlog. PRweb press releases are ranking really well in the search results right now with just a few high quality links.

Nope, press releases are now set to no follow so if you don't go crazy with the anchor text they are still very beneficial. I don't think doing just a Press Release for links is a good idea. However, generating traffic and credibility is a good purpose

I would recommend PRWeb although I have never PR Log. I got great service with PR Web and overall was pretty happy with the marketing capability. Got picked up by some major sources as well so my experience with them went well, I would think it depends on what you're looking to accomplish.

    Is it purely for SEO?
