2012 Google Backlinks Building Guide

Sorry, I don't have a guide; I am looking for one. I am completely lost.

I'm currently at 800k Alexa rank, yet have 0 Google Backlinks and 0 pagerank.

In general I'm looking for a good guide on how to get started with google backlinks, but I also have many questions. I know some SEO techniques are good and some are not good.

1. What are proven techniques that I can go out and do right now without hurting my site? (Most important)

2. How long does it take Google to find your backlinks on average?

3. How valuable is blog commenting these days? Forum signatures?

4. Are there any good SEO Fiverr gigs?

All answers are very much appreciated, thank you.

    1: Same as 10 years ago ,contextual links from authority sites with a strong backlinks profile. You can use web 2.0 blogs as they are free but you need to make them stronger(tiered link building). Avoid anything massive and keep anchor text as natural is possible. (raw links,generic anchors , keep your main kw's at 15-20%)

    2: Depends where are you getting from your links. Some may take 48 hours some may take weeks.

    3: Manual comments on related blogs were and will be always usefull even to drive some free traffic on your site, massive spam blog comments = crap. About signatures same as above.

    4: No, but enjoy the massive pr juice.

    Henry. Yes the question has been answered so many times that it is confusing. It is good to hear a succinct response as to what works. The more I read the more confused I'm as to what works post Panda, Penuin, EMD and Penguin 3. I would also love to learn about tiered link building.
