The basics of every blog networks depends on High PR Expired Domains. Blog Networks are the biggest challenges before Google and therefore they manually started deindexing them.

But it seems Google has now caught the nerves of blog networks and started devaluing links to all the expired domains as soon as they get expire.

Especially this is happening with expired .jp domains.

I have myself check a lot of domains few days ago, and found none of the backlinks is now indexed in Google and also the PR is n/a to all these domains.

Has anyone else experienced this also.

Do you have a link to any source for the information about devaluing expired domains?

I am registered in Hubpages. The number of visitors reduced after the 27th September from 50 to 90% . Different users suffered loss of visitors irregardless of unique photos and text. Now many on Hubpages actively discuss possibility to unpublish hubs and to move them somewhere else. So at present the blogs really are in trouble.

  • The basics of a blog network should be to treat each site and an individual entity and build your own links to it. It seems the biggest flaw I saw in many blog networks was that they were treating as a place to get links, and not a place to get traffic.

You take one blog, use all the WP tools there are to optimize it fully, duplicate it 1,000 times (With variations to templates, variable placements, and a few footer RSS feeds), build links to them, and then post content using the features available such as random titles, content spinning, matching tags, and you have a ranking network not a inbound link network.

The right posts with geographic targeting, or any other common variations (Auto makes and models, dog breeds, xbox games, or etc) along with the titles, can flood the ranking pretty darn well.

I totally agree to this. This is one of my problems with my clients, they have existing blog networks and from the look to the articles its very low quality that it looks like a spam site. No images, all plain text, black and white or default look and to think they have it for years already and it's PR0. While one of my blogs reached PR3 after 4 months.

I've revamp the site (well optimized, removed low quality posts, at least good web structure, etc.) but the client prefers the old look.

Stop spreading rumors if you have no source, and your false and misleading title doesn't help... my blog network is alive and kicking, thank you very much :p

NO, NO and NO. that is not how you do a backlink check. Google reports on very few links. Get a tool like spyglass even the free version or go to ahrefs

He just told you, spyglass or ahrefs.

And if you want to pre filter though the long lists I would recommend something like FreshDrop or RegisterCompass.

Make no mistake, some networks are still highly effective. Its all the greedy ones (low prices and millions of clients) that get caught and penalized eventually.

Google has devalued links from expired domains for years. Once the domain is expired, it is removed from the index and is reset to zero. Go by one that expired or dropped and see if you still have PR.

Your blog network won't go down if it doesn't look specifically like its only purpose is handing out link juice. It may take a lot longer but i personally write my own content for my network(s). In essence each blog looks like a fully functional blog that people might actually be interested in.

Have I ever had an de-indexed blog? Why yes i have, but only a handful overall out of hundreds of blogs. It really depends on where you got the domain, how you set it up and more importantly, how presentable you make it.

This is the first time when I hear about this. Since there is no official statement , I will just consider this a personal opinion or a rumor. There are so many people who start all kind of hysterias on the INTERNET, starting from a few words that they have read on forgotten article of forum.

What scary is that theres a good chance if you don't have a network with aged domains already you could wake up and never have the option again. Its scary easy how Google could totally destroy the aged domains with PR marketplace by doing a version of what the Op just claimed.

So i have to clarify this with you...

there are many expired domains that show pr 4-7 , but those are obtained by redirection which is a fake page rank..

If you want to avoid that you have to check those with specialized tools or try to check their backlinks with ahrefs, majesticseo, opensiteexplorer and even google with string "site:domain.com".

You will find beautiful and real page rank domains to start building your website on ...
