      The Open Graph is what drives the most traffic back to Canvas Apps every time Users add Apps to Tabs on their Pages. Facebook supports developers by driving traffic more back to their Apps because they keep Users occupied and entertained longer. They also require Users to LIKE the Apps Page before they can add the App to Page Tabs.

      Facebook will not approve Marketing Apps for the Open Graph and only 13% to 18% of their"fans" will ever see the messages posted unless you pay for approved ads and promote your posts.

    simple it help google understand your page better. by using open graph data in my client website . google index his video in SERP very quick and without that his videos will not showing.
    Open graph can use for other things also.
