Hi guys,

I`ve just bought a PR4 .US domain but i cannot add privacy to the domain does anyone know about this ?

I know that a .CA domain has like built in privacy so theres no need to buy privacy but now i`m stuck with this domain thats open for anyone to see

Any advice

Jim

You are not allowed to have WhoIs privacy on .us domains.

Not necessarily. Are all your other domains protected by whois including money sites? If so then having one that isn't is fine.

The others in my little private network are all privacy protected but the 2 money sites that i will use this .US domain to point to arnt privacy protected ..but they will be in about 20 mins

Is it set in stone that googles gonna deindex the .US domain pretty soon ?

Same thing happens with .co.uk domains, just so you know. Although with .co.uk there is a way around it by registering at a website that I forgot the name from and then there you can add the privacy.

You could register a PO Box at your local post office, then use that for the domain registration info.

Its $20 for either a 3 month OR a 6 month PO Box (I can't remember if the $20 gets 3 or 6 months, but its one of those.. lol)

In my opinion, you should have a PO Box anyway when you work online.

If you do any kind of email marketing, you are required to have an address at the bottom of each email.

And in this business, its just a matter of time before you start building a list

Or create an LLC or some other business registration to put it under.

You can also put private registration on the domain you are linking to.
