Yes, you can also use header tags too. You can use it in your subtitle especially if there is a keywords that you optimise on it. Just don't use to much header tags on each post. I suggest you only used h2 an h3.

The header tags, Should I be using these for each content I write on the page?
For example:

A one page site has 5 articles written on it.

article 1 title (should this be H1?)
content

article 2 title (should this be H2?)
content

article 3 title (should this be H3?)
content

article 4 title (should this be H4?)
content

article 5 title (should this be H5?)
content

Its probably a straightforward question but I am a little unsure :confused:

If you know your competition, use our keyword density checker to see what they are doing for the keywords. whatsmyserp.com keyword density tool will show and highlight multiple keywords/phrases in a pages title, meta description, meta keywords, h1, h2, and h3 tags along with overall keyword density.

Based on that, you can get an idea of what a top competitor is doing for on-page SEO. Feel free to use our SERP checker also. Both are free.

Now that is something that has surprised me. I just picked a random competitors site to have a look at for their keywords. Their keyword density was actually quite disappointing. With some good articles/content and some good keyword research using market samurai I should be able to make some progress.

Image optimisation. Thats something I haven't really payed much attention to. Yes I am using images but as regards to optimisation, thats thrown me so I will obviously ask my friend mr google but before I do, any tips on image optimisation you can offer?

You're over thinking it. Just keep it simple.

Set your pages up like this and you'll do just fine.

<head>
<meta name="robots" content="index, follow">
<title>insert your page title here up to 70 characters</title>
<meta name="description" content="insert your description here up to 155 characters">
</head>

Take the keywords meta tag out. You don't need it.

I think John hit the nail on the head. just follow his instructions and you'll be good.

EDIT: I see a lot of people write 15 lines of meta tags. i dont even understand why they'd do that. some folks even ask the google bot to come back in 10 days. thats like shooting yourself in the foot!! those tags are unnecessary, people should avoid them as much as possible.

you can increase your key word density by using the alt tag in img. It helps a lot plus the "alt" is highly appretiated by google due to the brail readers

and besides its a nice way to slip in a keyword.

I think for on page SEO Keyword Optimization, a lot of parameters are there which helps in optimization process. This includes:
Header Tags Optimization
Title, Meta Tags Formation
Alt Tags Optimization
Sitemap, robots tag generation etc.

Well first you should try to make it easy to navigate your site then move to meta tags and title tag optimization. You should also add your primary keyword in H1 tag.

Meta tags,
keyword optimize,
URL in keyword,
Long tail keyword,
H1,H2 tags,
Alt tag,
Sitemap,
Robots.txt file,
Rss submission,
Keyword density,
Keyword phrases.
