Authority Website SEO

I just started an authority website about video games and consoles, where it requires daily content.
I hired English/American writers and still looking for few who can write on weekends.
The site has now around 12 articles with excellent content and posting around 4~5 articles daily.
I want to start SEO:
- Is buying text links on sidebars of different guest blogs a good idea? (Blogs similar to BMR blogs which got de-indexed)
- What is the best whitehat method?

    When you just started building your website and only just a few weeks, you can't call it authority Okay, In doing SEO, make sure that you don't do what you asked! Do a quality link building which requires content. Do a web 2.0 posting, guest blogging, press release, forum profiles and etc. You can also build your own Private Networks that you can used in your link building. Make sure that you don't leave footprints in Google that can someday affects your website rankings.

    You have only 12 contents, you can not call it authority site. You should have good social signal and quality links back to your site.

      An authority site is a site which has high number of inbound links linking to it as compared to outbound links.An authority site have high page rank,high quality content that other hubs trust.a site can be made authoritative by providing useful and informative content for years and still providing it.

    An Authority Site is basically a website that those in your niche link to you as a source or reference. While I am not sure if I am have authority site I do feel it is on its way, for example each week 75-100 links are created to pages on my site that I have nothing to do with. The next step is when you can actually create keywords, these are words that people didn't really search for before you created the content for them..

    Finally with regard to amount of content, I don't personally think there is a golden rule to how much content is needed to be an authority in a niche because your niche will dictate that answer. For the sake of debate lets take the OP's niche "video games and consoles", in my opinion that will take 1000's of pages of content that had better be top notch. Written by people who not only know English well but also know the game they are directly writing about for that individual page. When you have that then the site will become a trust source for information on the topic and become a authority site.

    What makes a site an authority is the ability to live outside organic SEO and not just adding unique content upon unique content. It's way more than that.

    Are you thinking that way?

    Get high pr links and drive traffic off SEO to be recognized as authority.
