Okay well the title should have been if you hate wasting time on methods and tools that just don't work while eating up your money. Well that would have been too long of a title but anywho...

Too many people make this horrible mistake over and over again as if they don't pay attention to what's going on. Repeat after me. Stay away from blog networks! STAY AWAY! Keep your hard earned money and focus your efforts else where if you are a serious seo.

Yes we know that google has pretty much laid the hammer down on these networks but they are still around trying to recoup to take your money. They are useless now. They charge a cheaper price to convince you to use their networks more so then they would have before they were actually useful. I just see it has a huge SEO TRAFFIC EXCHANGE!

Who here loves traffic exchanges that prove to be ineffective and dangerous to your well being? Not me. So don't fall for the trap. You could be trading backlinks with blacklisted sites and google will handle you for doing so....Just stay away from these things.

IMO

Im the member of like 6 blog networks. I wouldnt dream of sending them to my authority sites anymore. However, i can rank web 2.0's or EMD's within a few weeks with just a few hours of work.

If you arent seeing results you are using them wrong. Yes, i have been penalized and continue to get sites penalized. But its a risk vs reward proposition. Right now im actually making bank using blog networks.

Sorry to kill your thread, but they can work... there are risks. But there are risks with everything nowadays, ive seen tons of useful whitehat sites go down lately.

I don't see your response as killing my thread. It's simply a friendly open discussion based around my opinions about whatever comes to mind. It's all good.

Now then I would say this thread is more geared towards seo's who do not plan on being penalized anytime soon or at all. If you want to keep a clean trail without risking your site going to seo ruin then I wouldn't recommend using blog networks. As long as you know that your success with blog networks is not a guarantee and you know the high risk involved you can make your decision as to whether you want to participate in them or not.

Trading backlinks is bad, google discover reciprocal link fast and devalue the link

I have stopped exchanging links. But when ever I saw an exact match domain I try to convince the site owner and tell him to exchange a single link. only 15% of them agree. I think that's totally oK.
I don't think that the blog networks are totally useless. Cause some small networks with different hubs and some other techniques are still killing the SE. But not using them is really good.
