When looking up the backlink count of a page, what do you search?

It entirely depends on what tool or method you are using to check the backlinks.

Most tools will treat all three versions as the same thing.

  OK, I'll partially retract my statement.
  
  ahrefs.com gives the same results for
  
  www.google.com
  https://google.com/
  
  as it does with
  
  google.com
  https://google.com
  
  I'll acknowledge tools like Majestic Site Explorer will give you different totals, but it does allow you to easily switch between the http, www and non-www versions of the domains so you can easily compare.

Yeah, I know Majestic SEO gives different values, so that's what I was asking. What would you guys like to use in my program? I've got to choose one.

Personally, I want all of them. They all are contributing to rankings unless you have your site setup incorrectly.
