Hi warriors,

I would like to get some information on SEO and does it matter when it comes to choosing a domain name, now I know it matters with users remembering a name, but as for domain names and extensions themselves does it matter with google? For example I would like to use extension .GS to me representing "Game services" for a project I'm working on, now users would guesstimate it's related to something about "games". What's the take on short vs long names, is it best to go with a domain that have your brands initials such as "EA" which is electronic arts, or just "earts" as an example.

I think earts is much better because people are already familiar with the name so it's much easier for people to get that in their memories. =)

  • Inx,

Sometimes it doesn’t matter however if you are doing local SEO and if location of the people finding your site matters, then yes the TLD matters. For example if you choose a country specific TLD and your company is not in that country, you may find that people in your home country cannot find your site in search.

Other than location specific TLD’s, it doesn’t really matter.
