Scrapebox, is it Safe?

What do you mean by safe? Is Scrapbox a massive virus that will steal your identity, destroy your credit, and make you bankrupt? Lots of people and don't seem to have this issue....

Or by safe do you mean to use to create automatic backlinks and not harm your page? Maybe? Depends how you use it....there is very strong evidence to suggest that automatic link building is a no-no. However, some swear that "if done properly" it's awesome.

This forum alone is full of people who have had their sites heavily penalized by Google simply because they've used software of this kind to create automated backlinking on sites not relevant to their own, and many have even been told expressly and individually by Google that that was the reason. Nothing to think about, here, especially when you're aware that those "backlinks" are pretty much worthless anyway, even if you don't get actively penalized for them.

I've never seen "Scrapebox" but I've read that it does have other uses which are nothing to do with backlinks at all - my comment above is about backlinks only. (But, perhaps, so was your question, which is why it belongs here, arguably: http://www.warriorforum.com/adsense-...cussion-forum/ ).

I have a theory that Google now is a subscriber to Project Honeypot and other spam catching sites and if your domain name is associated with spamming, then you will be penalised. So if you are risk averse, don't use scrapebox for links directly to your money site.

What Scrapebox is good for is finding blogs pages with decent PR for manual blog commenting.

By manual, I mean actually reading the post and then adding value to the discussion and using a real name, not trying to force your keywords in the comment name.

If you know what you are doing it is possible to get over 100 decent blog pages to comment on in as little as 15 minutes. There's a bunch of free Scrapebox tutorials on Youtube that are very useful.

What I have recently discovered is you can use it to find your competitors backlinks by a creative use of the site: search operator. If you are looking for a replacement for Yahoo site explorer, Scrapebox will do the job.

The other think I use Scrapebox for is text processing. Say for example you have a list of 1 million email addresses and you want to de-duplicate them and then delete all those addresses that don't have a .co.uk domain Scrapebox can do that in seconds.

Currently Scrapebox has allot of mixed opinions, so people like so people don't.
Will it hurt you Seo by using it, most likely no. But that all depends on how effective you are at using it. Preferable I think Scrapebox is good for finding blogs to make manual comments on, not just to send out automated comments.

Yes make a bunch of web 2.0s like social bookmarks, tumblr, squidoo lens, etc pointing to your main site and run a SB blast on these properties.

it depends how you use scrapebox, people only really use the comment posting part to index tier 2 and tier 3 links.

scrapebox is the best web scraper on the market. I use it to find high PR (PR4+) blog pages which are relevant and dofollow.

it is probably one of the most powerful SEO tools but it really depends on how you use it. no SEO tool is blackhat but the way you use it can be blackhat.

SB is great for keywords research and high PR URL harvesting.

Its blog commenting tool is to be used with caution. Blog commenting is still best done manually

Its safe to found new pages to do blog comments. but it is not safe to do blog commenting with it !
