Any luck using fiverr?

I'm thinking about trying out 1 or 2 fiverr gigs for getting ranked for some local low competition phrases.

Has anyone here used them with any success? Any war stories? Horror stories?

If you have had any luck, I'd appreciate knowing who you used.

Any feedback is appreciated...

When I first heard about fiverr I probably had the same reaction as most people:
Ten?!?!? TEN THOUSAAAAND Links for 5 bucks???

I think I bought about 20 gigs before realizing I was just burning money and diluting my PR.

You'll never get a quality link for a one time fee of $5, let alone 10,000 quailty links for $5 (lol).

I'm 99.99% sure those junk links will make your page bounce around the SERPs like a pinball machine.

I think they sell the Brooklyn Bridge for $5, but lately people haven't been getting their moneys worth

Done correctly I would say you can have some great results but :p I would never point any links built by Fiverr at my website.

Build quality web 2.0 pointing at your main site then get Fiverr gig pointing at your web 2.0 but use your head here try and find something that ant going to blast your web 2.0 you can find them. I saw this method on here not long back and I am getting good results even the web 2.0 are ranking well.

Those are interesting articles you pointed out. Many people are quick to think that quality never comes cheap, so fiverr links are totally useless. However, that is not the case. You can get some awesome results too if you know what you are doing.

In the end, a lot depends on the buyer too. He should know what kind of links to buy and what kind of links to stay away from. On a sidenote, some of those mass links available on fiverr can be good for your 2nd or 3rd tiers.

So, don't be quick to jump on to any judgements or negative conclusions just because of the cheap price.

Yes, my competitor's site went downhill after I purchased SEO services for his site on Fiverr. It's very useful for hurting your competition unless they're big sites like Amazon or Best Buy etc.

ROTFLMAO!!!!! Best Buy is just about done. Maybe samsung can buy them out...

I know you just tossed best buy in without thinking but it's still a little funny.
I wonder what fiverr gig did best buy in...

I know. Amazon must have fiverr-gigged best buy into oblivion.

I had some nice voiceovers and video testimonials over fiverr, which I consider as "luck", because you cannot find them cheaper.

For article writing, I still prefer iWriter.

And I prefer not to outsource link building/seo/smm.

There is nothing wrong with buying SEO gigs on Fiverr. A lot of time they are running programs like SENuke for you. It's worth it if you don't have the time/money for mass link building.

This is true, for me I think its better for the sit to have small amount of backlinks, as long as all of them are all high PR, rather mass link building, its really a waste of time..

  • The best way to get worthwhile gigs is to actually ask around, other members have list of respectable Fiverr vendors that they trust.
Fiverr is not a bad place for your online task, you just have to know how to approach Fiverr.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[7395870].message }}
  • And of course there are just gigs that will always be lack-luster on Fiverr.
Like dedicated Writing gigs and "backlinks to PR9" gigs.
Some things you just obviously stay away from.

I have tried one big FEVER gig and I was lucky the site has had several thousand links before it. The gig has deluted the % of my anchors due to the high number of links. For sure you should be very careful when picking up a fever gig. Your site should be not new and have sufficient backlink history to digest such number of new links comming to it at once (as most of them are done at once or within short period of time)

I hate to make blanket statements, but Fiverr is only good for things other than SEO related tasks...

only use fiverr for a task that is NOT push button.

    i.e. seo
    10k links pushbutton scrapebox
    5k wiki links pushbutton wikibot

but if you need "testimonials" made, sure! they'll actually sit down, read your script, and by now they've done like 1,000 so they've built up some skill.

I once bought a lawn mowing fiverr gig, they mowed 1 acre for $4 & they supplied the gas/mower.

I think I made a profit on the deal.

I tried a fiverr link building 'package' once. It was $5 for something like 500 links. They didn't specify what types of links they would be, but it turned out to be a ton of links on unheard of social bookmarking sites. Didn't really help my rankings at all.

I wouldn't recommend using fiverr. Low-quality backlinks will only harm your website. You can use fiverr for submitting press releases and all those things which are safe. When I started as a freelance copywriter, I went to fiverr to sell my content. After selling one gig I realized that I won't write a 400-word article for $4. So do other people who offer sth worthy.
