What would you do?

Here is where I am with a couple of keywords at the moment

My 3 keywords are results 11-14 organically very little backlinking (only natural over years) and has a PR 1

Looking at the Top5
Position 1 – PR 2 – Around 150 backlinks sorting thought them and most are forum or web directory’s
Position 2 – PR 3 – No backlinks and totally irrelevant to the search
Position 3 – PR 3 – No backlinks
Position 4 – PR N/A - No backlinks – A forum post
Position 5 – PR 0 - 51 backlinks

This is what I have done over the last two weeks built 7 web 2.0 / 7 articles / 2 YouTube Video little too no movement in the SERP’s moving around 11-14 spot but not moving into that Top10 or higher.

So what would you do to get my website into the Top5 (hopefully Spot1) Would coping the Spot1 backlinks help?

    This is a really broad question. Bottom line, look at your competitors for each of those domains/keywords and go from there. I always do a competitive analysis before I ask questions. Look at it this way, you copy what your competitors are doing and you will at least rank in the top 5, then use your magic for the rest.

    Lately, a lot of thread has been started here on SEO in 2012...

    You just need to look around carefully to see some of the stuff you are missing.

    To start with, your web 2.0 publication lands on PR0 page with little or no value to your site ranking..

    What i suggest is building tier links on your first layer whenever you use web 2.0, wikis, doc sharing, article, blogs or free press release and only use sites with PR1 and higher for safety. They really make them powerful and give them PR.

    Niche related links
    High PR (low OBL) comment directly on your money site is great.
    Paid press release
    Private network
    Guest blog
    Some social media presence on FB, Twitter can be helpful too.
