    Some of the most important things since penguin are:

    Avoid anchor spam
    Quality links
    Relevant link
    Quality content and avoid poor spinning
    Social media traffic and links

    And lastly, read the SEO section of this forum, there are a few good threads on SEO for 2012.

    That covers pretty much everything, just make sure you dont spam when you blog comment..or do really anything else. Also, make sure you do all of these techniques manually and your time will be paid off.

    Yes you can do less but do better which you doing. That means make it some quality links, not bulk spam links
