You have over 200 posts, beats me to hell, so I assume you are asking
this as a serious(?) question? Makes me think, however.

I can only relate one success. Been mentioned before. I started
a squidoo page about sarah palin way back when. One of the
first. I realized squidoo was a great way to funnel traffic. I tweaked
it, promoted it, linked it, etc. Plus, it does have some pretty good
content. Like her or hate her, that is irrelevant. You can make
money from things you like as well as things you hate. Keyword
and popularity is the key. A handy thing is to look at what is getting
the most searches on a daily basis on yahoo or wherever. What do
you think will become popular? If you are trying to get a page
that is well-established as #1, it is an uphill battle. You may be better
off starting from scratch. FYI, for a search on either google or
      yahoo, my squidoo palin page:
      Sarah Palin Facts and Trivia
Comes up as #1 on both for sarah palin trivia.

I am taking my own advice and starting a page from scratch that
seems to be buried. New domain as well.

Seriously, if someone could answer your question, and actually get
your page to #1 on yahoo, it would take more effort than a forum
posted answer, with all due respect to the fantastic people I have
      read here!

yeah, uh... I agree. Do you have a specific question? Otherwise the answer is SEO.

Are you asking about just any site or do you have a specific site in mind?

If you have a site where your keyword is "make money online" then I can't really help you as its saturated and I'm sure most are attempting seo techniques.

But if you are looking to start more sites and have chose the niches wisely (low comp/high search) then just utilize on-page seo, post a comment with your backlink on blogs related to your niche or high PR, make a squidoo/hubpage/wordpress and fill with unique niche-related, keyword-optimized content and link back to your main site..

There you go! If you have SEnuke, this could be alot faster.

I use SEnuke for All of my sites and many of my autoblogs. It's costly but once you start making money , its definitely worth it, IMO.

    Hope this helps

I see that you are linking to ezine article only then that article is linking to your sales landing page about hypnosis-secrets(dot)com. Very good strategy!!

You need to be really careful dishing out advice like this. I would say that most people disagree with you.

Google, just from a market share of search, has the most volume, and most SEOs target Google. In my experience, if I optimize for Google, my sites get picked up, and rank equally, on Yahoo and MSN.

However, there is SOME truth to what you say. The key is you REALLY have to know your market well.

I did one job for a guy selling PEO contracts to small businesses, and sure enough, for some crazy reason or another, his PPC ads performed better on Yahoo than Google.

The moral of the story here is know your market. And what works for one person won't necessarily work for you.

You bring up a good point. Google has talked about this extensively where they favor new content in the rankings.

I don't know any official name for this, but I call it the Google new content "bump".

I've tracked this EXTENSIVELY, and I've found that I can get new pages ranked really highly, even overtaking established pages. However (and this is what I've been tracking) almost exactly two weeks later, the page ranking drops dramatically, often many pages (that's pages, not positions).

So, Google "bumps" your new page to the top for about two weeks, then it drops off.

Here's how I've been countering this lately... I wait about a week, and then I start throwing links at the page, several links every day for a week. I've noticed that the position drops less when I do this.

      Good point!

First,I don't know why you are targeting Yahoo and MSN when you should be targeting MR.BIG G.
But if you want to know, its easy to get indexed on top in yahoo and msn (it does not happen overnight though)..Link Love..means get as many backlinks as possible to your site.Go find blogs that you can comment (and you don't have to worry about follow or no follow link because both msn and yahoo consider almost all links)
Not to forget, use your targeted keyword in the achor text.(not the same keyword, but a variation of long tails)
