Need a little help guys. (Check attachment) What hapened on Sept 6th?

No backlinking was done to this site. Though it is an affiliate site, all white hat seo.

I have been racking my brain trying to figure out what happened because it doesnt rank at all anymore. To the best of my knowledge there were no changes to the website done on or even remotely around this time, its been running on autopilot.

Any ideas??

Maybe that's the reason. There are no backlinks to your site.

Is your site rather new? Sometimes Google ranks new sites rather high for a short period of time. After this "honeymoon" period it is possible that the site disappears totally from serps.

You beat me to it...that images show the honeymoon ending...a honeymoon that picked up no backlinks during its term.

IMO, this is a testing period that Google uses to search for potential popularity and if a site fails the litmus test, it just gets archived.

Happens all of the time...people usually blame this phenomenon on "updates".

I think anyone else has promoted your site in a spammy way. If it is out of your knowledge that how did it happen. It might be someone else. I think you should find your competitors for that bad impression.

Wow, if a competitor used penguin as a weapon that would be diabolical. I'll check it out.

It ranked pretty steadily for about a year... then poof. How long does this honeymoon period usually last??

It's usually no more than few weeks, or couple of months at tops. So, there must be some other reason...

Try something like http://www.backlinkreport.net to identify and remove spam links..... penalties are working on anchor text distribution manipulation indicators as well as poor quality link indicators
